Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Solar is in and we are officially on the road. Left AM Solar on Thursday, spent the first night at a park by Grants Pass. While trying to find something about half way to Redding, I found a county park that is free. Checked it on Google Earth and it looked doable. Tonight will be our second night. It's GREAT and the solar is doing really well despite it being stormy. Oh, the camp is called Lake Shastina and has spots big rigs can get to. Summer may be a different story,it seems to have a fair number of people come in to let their dogs run but we're the only campers. Ann
AM solar did a great job! We had to wait 2 weeks because they are so busy, but in our experiences that is a good indicator of quality work. They installed four 150 watt solar panels with a controller and remote panel, and also installed a new 2500 watt inverter/charger that we provided. They also installed our battery monitor kit and remote for the inverter. We already had two Lifeline 400aH, 6 volt batteries that were tied into our new system, and are right now at full charge, even with limited sun today. We're very pleased with the job and would recommend them to anybody in need of solar equipment and/or installation. They are providing kits for the do-it-yourselfer, and will provide extensive assistance. Hank
Ann & Hank - happy to hear that you are on the road!!! AM Solar is definitely a stop we'll be making, trying to decide the right timing to do that, but probably once we have the house on the market we'll head south. Were you able to stay in your DRV while they did the install?
We spent 2 nights in a motel. They said we could stay in the trailer but they would have to secure the work site for safety, then reset up everything in the morning. At $90. an hour and the added hassle to them we went to a motel. We did spend the 3rd night in the trailer in the shop. Next morning pulled out and checked all systems. Patted us on the poo poo and away we went. Very happy.
