Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Commonly people go out full timing thinking they will wear shorts, light tops and flip flops every day, with day hiking boots for hikes. Then they hit frosts in Arizona, Texas and/or Florida in winter so they find they need longer pants, closed toed shoes, sweaters and jackets also. A cactus thorn in the toe is also no fun. Casual is good, most find their formal wear doesn't fit after a couple years.

Eskiehouse, It might help if you said how/where you plan to full time. You might use the search button in the blue menu bar and type shoes, for instance. You'll find we're all different and different activities require different clothing/shoes etc. My current like is the more the better but from what I've read from experienced fulltime RV'ers is we weed out stuff as we go!
Have fun, Sherry

Mostly I wear Birkenstock sandals but have a good pair of hiking boots and athletic shoes if needed. I do have flip flops for the public showers.
Shorts and Tee Shirts 95% of the time.
Two swim trunks with velcro closure pockets to carry the RV key.
I have a light jacket (windbreaker or hooded sweatshirt) and a heavy jacket in case it gets cold or very cold.
I do have levi blue jeans but rarely ever use them even in very cold. I will put the jeans on if it's windy or I'm going to be on the ground doing some sort of work under the RV.
I also carry a good pair of slacks, dress shirt and dress shoes in case we go somewhere more formal.
I carry 3-4 outfits since we have a washer/dryer. I used to carry a weeks worth.
I rarely wear a hat but do have a couple of ball caps and a wide brim straw hat for the desert.
Gloves are the tan leather workman type plus a pair of heavy canvas/leather or throw-a-way vinyl gloves for dirty work.
I have a one strap day pack for quick trips and a two strap McKlein back pack that also doubles as a roller Tote bag for air travel. It has a "L" shaped hard plastic attachment equiped with wheels and a collapsible handle to convert it from backpack to rolling tote. Very handy.

Specifically I was wondering about types-brands of hiking boots, sun hat types-good and bad. hiking poles/sticks,backpacks, fannypacks, glove types. I will be all over the place, many of the same places that Howard and linda visited.
I won't be full timing until jan-14, just trying to do as much research as possible.
Thanks a million, that is exactly what i was hoping for. Volumn of clothing is what I was fishing for, just didn't word the question right! do you use those walking sticks? Do you see very many people taking their dogs on hikes/walks? Hmmm, another good question, hiking "boots" like sled dogs wear to protect paws.
boy! I sure do like this website!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
