Ouch!!!!!..........Dont swish the Tequila....and due to medical problems it must be dispensed in over-poured double shots only!!!!

I would tell you to give the wife a kiss but 8 crowns says to just pour her another...........Bless you!!!!!

That's no fun at all!! I went thru extractions, bone grafts, implants and crowns in 2011. I seriously thought about about Mexico but I am such a super chicken I was referred to a doc in Chandler, AZ who would do extractions and grafts in one sitting under anesthesia and the implants in another one, also under anesthesia. It was the roughest thing I've ever been thru and I've had a bunch of surgeries, but I'm glad it's done.

The tequila & sunshine should help and please post your Docs name on here for others.

The oral surgeon was named Alejandro Barragan and the Crown guy was Victor Valiencia. We went to a place called Sani Dental they are a fairly big clinic. Always jammed packed and usually running behind schedule but it's Mexico, just go with the flow. When I needed a oral surgeon I went over to an affiliated but more upscale place called Platinuim Dental, man nice digs there!

YIKERS!! My teeth hurt just thinking about all that! I'm not sure that I will ever have the courage to have dental work done in Mexico, but it is good to hear about people who have positive experiences with it. I hope all continues to go well for you!

Be careful with them prescriptions and that Tequila or any alcohol!! The worst pain I was ever in was when I had 13 upper teeth removed at the same time. Herniated two discs in my back and the epidural not as bad. Had the three stents done in my heart; piece of cake compared to the teeth extracted. Had two blacke-eyes from the removal of the eye tooth, swear they were connected to my eye sockets.

Wow!! that's a lot of dental work/pain! As a Brit, you know us Brits are renowned for bad teeth!. I have quite a few issues with my teeth, sometimes I think it would be easier to get them all out and have dentures fitted! I am phobic about dentists, never had a good one, so for me it wouldn't be too scary going to Mexico, Jay would need some persuading to go over the border though! Did you take the RV, or just drive over? Of course the other thing keeping me out of the dentist's chair is the cost!

We drove to the border then parked in a huge parking lot which costs 5 bucks a day, then you walk over to the town a 100 yards or so. Going in to the town there are no border checks but coming back you have to go through US Customs. Sometimes there is a huge line and it can take an hour or more, other times it's quick. The place is packed everyday with tourists, mostly snowbirds. We are in an RV and leave it in the campsite and drive the truck to the lot but I've seen RV's in the lot too. Many people stay at a Casino Hotel a few miles away and even some of the clinics like the one we used have deals with hotels on the Mexican side for around $40 a night. We were offered a free room due to the amount of work done.

Am very interested in your dental work done in Mexico. How many days did it take for the amount of work you had done? Did they also put you under to do all that work?

I have just come from the dentist here in my hometown and just for a root canal and crown the cost will be $2500. Wow! I am also phobic of the dentist chair.

It was about 4-5 days for the crowns, I had 7 and Anne had 8. They did all the drilling the first day and the other days were more for fittings and tweaking the bite. We didn't get put under, just lots of freezing. Took about a good week before there was no pain and we could stop taking pain medication and now around a month later we are eatiing normally.

Sheeeeeeesh!!!.........Every time this Thread comes up I have to put my dentures in the freezer to stop the pain.......The nice part is if I need dental work like this ,I can use mail-order!!!!!
