Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi there, we are soon to be taking to the road as well. Hubby is retiring in March and we hope to be on the road by May. We are still searching to find a 5th wheel toy hauler that will be big enough but not too big and hold up to full time use. We both ride motorcycles and want to do a lot more of that on our adventure around our wonderful country. We have two grown children and two beautiful grand daughters. I'm really looking forward to seeing relatives across the country and getting to see the East coast one of these days. We will rent our farm to our oldest child and his family and they will be taking care of the llamas, cats and chickens plus having a great place for the girls to grow up while saving some money.
I'm so glad I found you all here!!
Revision on timing....
Found out Jay has to have neck surgery in Feb. so our revised plan is retire in May instead of March (mainly stretching out sick leave and then terminal vacation) and then spend the summer here and continue transitioning into our new home on wheels! This will give me more time to do the garage sales etc. then figure out the ins and outs of the rig we end up getting. We are trying to figure out how to attend the rally in March so we could learn before we buy unless a sweet deal drops in our laps before then. :) At this point it all depends on how the surgery and recovery goes.

Welcome! We are over in Port Angeles, hoping to be on the road by the end of this month. Hope to make the Quartzsite rally in February. We just sold our home, closed a business,(retired) bought a 5th wheel, truck and have been in our NEW home for 2 months tying up loose ends. Everyday we feel better about our decision to go full timing. Good luck, and hope to see you on the road. Ann

Welcome to the RV Dreams forums. You will find this to be a very good site to find a lot of answers to any questions that you may have. Feel free to ask away and never worry about a question being dumb. The only dumb ones are those that don't get asked in order to get an answer.

Thanks, Terry! I'm full of questions and am enjoying reading the posts on here immensely!
Ann and Hank - I wish we could make the rally in Feb. too. I'm finding so much more to this lifestyle after being on this forum for 2 days I can hardly wait to get out there and meet everyone and join in on the fun. :) We will be here until late summer still clearing out the house and all that goes with that. I can't believe how much 'stuff' I've accumulated in the past 30 years! Gads!! What was I thinking!!
Bill - Full-timer since 2003!! That is awesome!! I can't hardly wait!! Since finding this forum I've stayed up reading way past midnight...usually I'm in bed at 9! HA!
Kelly and Jay - welcome! We're just south of Seattle in Auburn, will be putting our house on the market in April. One thing you might consider to get rid of "stuff" is an estate sale. We're working to get one scheduled in Feb. and will be happy to share any lessons learned when it's all done.
Welcome. we are from across the water in Victoria, B.C. , been on the road approaching 2 years. We RVed the east coast last year. Had an awesome time. you'll love it.
Welcome and good luck on your search for a 5er TH. There are several really nice ones on the market place between manufacturers such as Keystone, Heartland and Forest River. All haev their unique features. We chose to go a different route as you see as we did not feel that the toy haulers fit our FT plans.
Good Luck,
Les

We are really hoping to make the March rally so maybe we can meet some of you in person. Janie - we will be here in April so message me if you have time and we could meet then! :)
Welcome. We are in Wenatchee, WA. Our time-table keeps shifting around, but looks like June 3 right now. Can't wait too. Hope to meet you down the road.

I'm sure we will meet up on the road at some point. Our time-table has shifted as well which actually worked out for the best, still lots to do to get to where we are road worthy! :)
I will follow your blog! Although it seems the more blogs I follow and the more time I spend on this site the less I'm getting done around here....there is just so much more to learn....
How do you like your truck? We are going to look at the same truck later today.
Love my truck. Definatly need a dulley. Can't have too much truck. Started with a 2500HD and it pulled fine. But found out we were overloaded. Went with the 3500HD and feel even more safe and secure. Can't beat the Duramax/Allison combination. IMHO. Plan, plan, plan. And some dream in' too. Love it!

Kelly, you might want to start your own blog. It's not that hard to do and it will be a nice way to make memories amd remember your "start-up" times. Howard and Linda actually inspired me to start our's a few years ago.
You're not kidding lots of work! I just keep plugging away at it though. My daughter comes down to help a couple days week and we box up things for G-sale, Garbage, things kids & grand kids want, things I won't or can't part with (at least on this first go around), Thrift Shop.
We bought our truck last week, an 05 Chevy Silverado so now waiting until Jay's surgery is over to get serious about the Toy Hauler unless of course we find the right one before then. In between cleaning out the house I find myself on these RV forums or reading other's blogs and dreaming of sitting on a beach somewhere......
Are you going to the RV show in Seattle the weekend of the 7th? We'll be there. :)
