Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I hope this topic hasn't been done to death, I can't think of a similar thread since I joined, so here goes it
We have lived full time in our 04 Alfa Seeya now for over 5 months, we really do love it and have no regrets about buying it, but.......We have a big pull out couch with an air mattress in it, very nice, but completely unused, we have a washer/dryer combo that is just taking up space and we would also like to change out the fridge/freezer......
I know there are plenty of you 'handymen' out there that have made changes inside your RV's, we are just wondering how you get these things OUT of the RV? One guy told us that the windows just pop out and you can get anything through them, we have checked the owners manual to see how we do that, but there is nothing in there concerning this issue. Not sure if anyone else on this forum has a similar RV to ours? I could go to the Alfa owners forum, but to be honest you guys are much nicer and always more willing to help
Thank you
huggs kim x

Kim, often things will come apart and fit through the door, never did hear about pulling a window out...measure your door opening, measure your item to be removed, remove the couch, flip upside down, look for fasteners, or get a good saw......Fridge will fit out the door sideways...
Friends just had their MH refrigerator replaced and repair facility removed a window to take old out and put new in. No sure how they do it but I betcha Lucky Mike or Bill Joyce or Bill & Linda or someone else will jump in and tell you. You also might want to google it.

Kim to remove the couch the back rest is bolted in position.... the washer dryer combo, is it a stack or a single door?.....is your fridge a 4 door , 2 door side x side or freezer on top?....
all three of these units are major components of your coach....you might want to refer to a dealer for removal. sometimes the slide unit needs to be removed for some fridges and if this is the case for your unit the rest could be done at the same time.
also keep in mind you will severely depreciate the value of the coach upon these types of modifications.........just what you mentioned is a 5 k or better loss on the day it is done.
I dont say this to scare you , it is just info you should have.....if you price each of the Items you are about to remove and get an installed price to put back the same exact items you will see what I mean.
if you decide to sell the coach later it will count heavy against a sale or trade on the coach.

We've changed out furniture and our refrigerator. The original couch in ours was uncomfortable and was easily taken apart for removal. The original recliners allowed the removal of the seat back, allowing us to turn the seat sideways for removal through the door. The new furniture (La-Z-Boy Reclinaway Love Seat) went into the fifth wheel in the same way.
With the refrigerator, we measured the width of the door and took our chances. All we had to do was remove the doors of both the RV refrigerator for removal and the new residential fridge for installation.
The main thing is to think ahead and if possible measure your old and new appliances to insure easy installation or removal.

Mike, the washer dryer is a one door unit combo (splendide) Fridge is a 4 door unit (norcold) I understand what you are saying about losing money in resale/trade if we remove these items, but we are going to re-use the couch area and put in an entertainment console that will fit our larger flatscreen TV (and game consoles, DVD player) The space that houses the washer/dryer right now will be re-used also, we are hoping to put in an ice maker and store some of our other kitchen appliances in there, like the george foreman grill, ice tea maker etc. I thought we would want to keep the washer/dryer unit, but I have been disappointed in it's performance the two times I have used it, I find it much easier to use the laundry facilities in the campground. The fridge will hopefuly be replaced with a domestic unit, we just need to find one that will fit the same space and be compatible with the amps etc.
The dealer we bought the RV from said that he would do a deal with us for the units we remove, we are going to chat with him to see if he will do the removal/refit for us and we will let him have the removed items, I think that will probably be a lot less hassle than trying to remove/sell the items ourselves.
Terry...The couch we want to remove is brand new and lovely to look at, but oh boy! it's like sitting on rock and there is no way to get 'comfortable' on it, we think that we will be able to fit an oversized recliner in that spot along with the entertainment console, we already have two recliners (plus the front recliners) so I don't think we will be short on sitting options, I have seen some of your pictures showing your changes, your 'home' looks lovely! At some future date I also want to swap out the dining booth type seats and the table for free standing table/chairs....lots of ideas but lots of time, no hurry! Thanx again guys, you are the best!
