Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

We are starting our first workamping job next week! We wanted something in CA, near my parents, to spend Christmas through April. A job was posted on Workamper.com which fit the bill perfectly. After talking to the owner, e-mails back and forth, and phone interviews, we finally got the job. We are at Coyote Valley RV Resort  in Morgan Hill, CA.

Our job is pretty simple! We escort rigs to their site, pickup bags of garbage/recyclables at each site, and fill propane when needed. We also do a census every morning on our shift of empty sites, and meter reading of monthly guests. There are doors to unlock in the clubhouse and pool area as well. Our hours are only 28/week per couple! We work 3.5 days per week, with 4 days off. We can work our shift any way we want. The other workamp couple works in 2 hour rotations, but George and I will figure that out as we go along.

This is a beautiful resort, with heated salt water pool, hot tub, fitness room, and clubhouse. They have poker on Tuesday nights and wine tastings most every Friday night. I think we will really enjoy it!

Our next workamping gig will be in Oregon, June, July & August. We will be working at Cedar Creek Hatchery near Hebo. Our job will be mowing grass (15 acres!) and general jobs around the hatchery. Should be interesting!

Nice area. We stay at the Thousand Trails there and like it. Lots of stores, restaurants and places to go. It is easy to go up into the Bay Area for everything else, if you can stand the traffic, plus Santa Cruz and the Monterey Peninsula are an easy drive. We were there a week ago.

Sounds wonderful! Will look forward to hearing about your hatchery gig as that is what Dave wants to do on our first workkamping job. Hopefully in 2013.

How are you liking your Montana? That is the model we are hoping to get next year. Any issues? Or things you don't like or things you really love about it?

 The hours don't sound "short" to me. That is a lot of hours for a site. But in CA it may be worth it.  The job does sound pretty easy, though, IF that is really all there is to it. But being close to family would probably make some additional sacrifice worthwhile.

 Her rates here are $840.00/month plus electric. Our budget is $300 per month without electric. I'll gladly ride a golf cart around for 14 hours a week for that Time will tell if the job is 'easy'. No complaints from the other workamper couple so far blankstare
