Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
That makes sense. From a pic can access pics on my hard drive but evidently one uses an outside service for the Apple mobile devices.
Gene, you done with storms & blizzards for now?
Sherry
Sherry,
I think the outside service like Photobucket and Picasa is required for many of the different forums, but not because of the phone. We got a Photobucket account just so I could post and share photos on forums. My Android DroidX2 has an app that I can use to post to Photobucket for the photos I take with the phone. (Most photos I take with my Nikon.)
I know of one RV forum where I can "upload" an image directly from my computer, but all others need to use the URL address or use the outside service.
One of the biggest things to watch for is to make sure that one's photos are not too large. If they are, they force the forum page to "widen" to the point that one has to use the scroll bar at the bottom of the post to see all of the photo. In addition, that widened page forces ALL of the text on that page to widen as well, and one has to use the bottom scroll bar to even read all of the text. It really gets irritating to try to read pages like that. What I usually do is resize my photo before putting it on Photobucket. Then once I insert it into my post, I use the "Show Preview" button at the lower left to see how big the picture is on the page. If I can see the scroll bar at the bottom, then I remove the photo from Photobucket and resize it on my computer before putting it there again.
Now, if the I-Pad or I-Phone don't take that large of a photo, it probably wouldn't matter.
