Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Oh, by the way, there is a Bugatti Veyron somewhere in that line of cars in the photo. I’m selling it cheap today. I need to buy about 10 gallons of gasoline for our generator because there is suppose to be a 40% chance of a blizzard here in Oklahoma City on Chrismas Day and I want to be prepared.
(Google Bugatti Veyron and check the prices on them to see the humor of that last post.)
If you happen to be lazy with Google, here's a link: Bugatti Veyron
With an electronically controlled top speed of roughly 253 miles per hour and 10 radiators, that's a chunk of change and car.

What with this being the end of the Mayan calendar, Jo and I did not buy any Christmas cards or gifts. After all, if the world ends today, no one will be able to open presents on Christmas Day anyway.
Besides, Jo and I got married on December 25, 1968, so for almost 44 years I've explained to everyone that I planned it that way so I could buy one gift and two cards. (Hey, can I help it that I am cheap?)
Seriously, as some may be traveling this weekend and not have access to their computers until after Christmas, Jo and I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. May your travels be safe and your reunions be joyous.
And yeah, we're also looking forward to the New Year in spite of the Mayans.

Terry - sure hoping those forecasters are wrong and OKC doesn't get hit with the Christmas blizzard! We're headed to OKC on the day after Christmas and I really don't have any desire to drive in the white stuff.

Ruth,
I'm really not too worried about the amount of snow that we may get. While Oklahoma may get some cold temperatures, the instances of lots of snow are pretty rare. You can go this KWTV Channel 9's website (linked there) and see the 7 day forecast. Believe me, I really don't think it will be bad.
Then again, I don't know how much experience you have in snow and ice, so it might could be a problem. Those of us who live here are pretty used to it. Well, I guess I should say that those of us who grew up in Oklahoma would be used to it. I don't know what you have for a vehicle, but if it is front wheel drive, it will be really easy to handle snow and ice.

Congratulations Y'all quite an achievement, I've been throught two wifes and 16 years of being single since 1968, I should have stayed married to the first one.
ROFLOL about the world comming to an end...er....perhaps my DW thought so for a second or two today....as she was driving a rental car and was clipped by a hit and run driver, seems like this is a bi- annual happening for her LOL...and she want's to learn how to drive a MH ???
However Terry we all think it is so cool of you to make ammends for your overly thrifty past (was going to say cheap but in the spirit of the Yule Season I degress LOL), to get her that new Bugetti Viron and by doing this you are setting the bar very high for the rest of us. Jo will enjoy driving it at 253 MPH getting away from the blizzard, she should be in sunney California before dark LOL
Happy anniversary! 44 wonderful years and many more to go! I guess since the Mayans were wrong she will have to tolerate you for a little longer! Or maybe I should ask if anyone else is here! Maybe I'm the only one left! Well, me and this cat that can't seem to get close enough this morning!

Well, I gave it until midnight and the world didn't end. Crud! Now I have to keep working.
John: That was quite a description about Jo and the Bugatti, but I really suspect that she would NEVER get anywhere close to that speed.
Mark: Nope, you aren't alone. But I really think that the vast majority of us relish life enough that we are "willing" to tolerate our "other halves" for quite some time to come.
While I won't say that the 44 years were all good, there were very few issues between Jo and I. Part of that is due to "committment." I tell young folks today that the committment begins BEFORE one even "pops the question." If you aren't willing to make that committment, then don't even ask. It's like a pre-nuptial agreement...if you're not willing to fully trust the person you want to marry, then why marry at all?

John, might I suggest a Wanderlodge or one of the other steel-bodied motor homes? Since most of the new cars are all fiberglass and tinfoil, anyone who clips one of those machines will have a totaled car, and you might have a scratch in the paint.

Terry and Jo, Happy Anniversary and have a very Merry Christmas. We could not agree more with you about commitment and trust. Also need to add that once married, it is also about "we" not "me" and "ours" not "mine".

We are at 41. Commitment is the key. Holding out to see which one of us gets committed first is what keeps us together! I hope she doesn't read this or I might not make 42!
Speaking of we and our... There is a culture among us where the women frequently say my kids my car my house. I have wondered if it isn't language driven. Maybe in their native language it is spoken this way naturally and when they use English it is just the way they transition.

Terry,
Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I married Marla on her birthday for the same reason.
Terry and Jo,
Have a very merry Christmas and a wonderful anniversary.
Terry - hopefully the ice and snow will hold off, too many bad memories of ice storms from my years living in Dallas makes me a little cautious. Hopefully next weekend when we're in Norman OK visiting family we can meet in person. In the meantime, have a wonderful anniversery and Christmas! We'll be at Rolling Retreats on the 28th, 2 day delay due to potential weather issues.
