Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
hi, Ed and Vickie here. We live in W Tn and have an oldie but goodie 27' "1970-71 AVCO Grandlodge" 413 cu in (7-7 1/2 mpg) about to remodel interior. enjoy the site and would like to exchange ideas with others.
You'll have to post some before and after pictures of your rig. We love to see pictures of everyone's projects relating to RV's and yours is a great canidate.
Welcome to the RV Dreams forums. Yours will be the second recent RV restoration that will be of interest of many of us. Personally, we bought new because I am worthless with trying to restore almost anything. However, I can still appreciate good work from others. You might consider starting a blog, which will let you post numerous pictures as your restoration evolves.
Feel free to ask questions and make comments as we all tend to learn from each other. Glad to have you as part of the "family."
Terry

I was curious to see what your motorhome looked like...
...so I looked it up on the Internet...
...but, when I was browsing to look for it ...I came across 'this' ...that I thought you'd be interested in.
AVCO CAMPAIGN NO N/A.27-FOOT AND 23-FOOT GRAND LODGE AND 27-FOOT COMMERCIALUNIT.POSSIBILITY DUE TO THE RECESSED NATURE OF THE GASOLINE FUEL PIPE, FUMESMAY ACCUMULATE IN THE RECESSED AREA AND FURTHER DUE TO THE LACK OF A SEALEDBARRIER WALL BETWEEN THIS AREA AND THE INTERIOR OF THE MOTORHOME IN THEBATHROOM LAVATORY CABINET AREA FUMES MAY ENTER THE INTERIOR COMPARTMENTS DURINGTHE REFUELING PROCESS.(CORRECT BY INSPECTING AND SEALING COMPARTMENTS TOPRECLUDE GASOLINE FUMES).
Welcome! I'm pretty new here and have found all the folks to be the most wonderful people around, very knowledgeable and helpful. I have never heard of AVCO, and definitely second the "start a blog" idea so we can follow along. I'm in MidTenn and attempting to get my project home, a 1970 American Leisure Time Industries Caboose travel trailer. I hope your remodel is less extensive than mine is turning out to be! LOL
