Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We have been browsing thru alot of dealer lots lately looking for a newer 5th wheel that we can fulltime in. So here is what happened this weekend-
We took a short trip to Carolina Coach and Marine in Hickory NC Saturday, to look at several floorplans we have been considering. After getting some good notes on what we liked and didn't, we drove (golfcart) by a model on the end of a row that my wife commented on that she would like to see what the inside looked like considering it was a 2009 model compared to our 1996 model.
Alie walked up the steps infront of me and I heard an "OH WOW"!
So after some negotiation and usual stuff, we are the proud owners of a
2009 CarriLite 36MAX1.
We got a great price because it is an orphan unit since Carriages demise. The dealer sold it new to the first owner, did all the service work on it, and took it in on trade when the owner decided on a Class A instead.
That's a good floorplan. In fact, it was one of three that Carriage built that we were interested in when we were looking. However, we couldn't decide on which of the three floorplans would be best for us because Carriage said they wouldn't modify anything to incorporate one feature into another floor plan. So, we went elsewhere.
Yep, you're gonna need a bigger truck. Good luck with finding that portion that suits you as well.
Terry
