Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are looking at a new Cabo 341 built by Carriage. We have heard and read alot of good stuff about this company but they are no longer in business so there is no longer any factory warranty. So is this a foolish choice or is an extended warranty good enough to cover for the lack of a factory warranty and do extended warranties offer coverage for issues like leaks etc. Any feedback would be appreciated.

We own a Carriage Carri-Lite. We really like it. I do not feel "nervous" now that Carriage went out of business. If you are getting a good deal on the Cabo and you really like it, then I would go ahead and buy. We have an extended warranty on ours and have had them on other trailers and we have not had any problems that were not covered. You can also join the active Carriage Owners Group (http://carriageowners.net/forum/index.php). You will find lots of information and help there...although the Cabo was a recent fiver and I am not sure how many folks actually own one. It all comes down to whatever you are comfortable with. Many of the old Carriage dealers still have the expertise on staff to work on the trailer if you do have any problems.

Every piece of that unit is still manufactured.....they just order the materials bring them into a factory setting and assemble them, the only difference in each coach is the materials used.......but generically every piece is available or replaceable.........factory warranties are no different than good aftermarket warranties, it depends on how it is applied and written and most of all the caliber of the service tech doing the work
The only thing I wouldnt do is buy a New coach from a closed company without drastic reductions in price and warranties in place by a non-affiliated secondary service company

There is a used one listed on RVTrader.com in Jacksonville, FL for $43500 so price doesn't sound too bad. I'm looking at a 2006 Carri-lite. Everyone I've talked to says they are great units so I don't have any qualms about the manufacturer being out of business. Bad things happened to good manufacturers in the past few years.
I think I would look at an extended warranty and also find a good repair place/guy not affiliated with a dealer. I LOVE Bob Jones RV Repair in South Houston. Good folks who do a great job on all repairs.

great info, thanks so much!! we like it well enough--it doesn't grab us the way the outback loft does, but as full timers the cabo is probably a much better rig for us.
