Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I use Walgreens at the moment with there discount pharmacy membership and seem to have no problems anywhere on the east coast in getting my meds. and the rate isnt bad.
My question is by changing over to walmart requires paperwork and I have heard horror stories chasing scripts is it worth the 40 bucks i save.........looking for input
is there a mail order available that fedexs
I recieve alot of meds from a bio lab in Fla and it seems less headache involved but they only handle Chemo Meds.......hoping to simplify things

Being retired military I get mine thru express scripts. But we used to use Target. Target was our chice because there were no lines and the staff acted professional. The few times we have used Walmart were pleasant enough and we got our scripts without problems. I just felt that their service was more about them and less about you. Translated, I made my choice based on preference and have had no negative experience with Walmart.

Not sure if I can help you with your decision but had one script filled at Walgreens and a refill of the same at Walmart. I got a three months supply at Walmart for less than a one month supply at Walgreens. The Walmart I used had a system where they call you on your cell phone when it is ready so the service was ok. If it was a over all total of 40.00 savings I wouldn't do it but if it is that much on each one ...........probably. No experience with their mailing system but I am sure others here have used it and will post. I want you to know I am NOT a fan of Walmart but that isn't what you asked so I'll leave it at that.
We've filled prescriptions at several Walmarts in different states with no problems at all. Once your refillable prescription is in the Walmart system any pharmacy in the chain can access it and do a refill... just give them the number and you're good to go. If you can use generics you can get a 3 month supply for only $10 if your drug is on their list. Can't beat that price!
The only problem we had in our 7 month circle of the USA this year was in New York State. Evidently there is a law there that you can only get one refill on a prescription no matter what it says on the label. Even though we had 2 or 3 refills left there was zero remaining after we filled it in NY. Not a Walmart problem but something to be aware of if you find yourselves in NY state.

Yep Walmart gets my vote. However if you are in North Dakota you will not be able to go to a walmart for prescription, state law prohibits them from have a pharmacy. You will have to get them elsewere.
Dittoon what wildbill2673 said. North Dakota law does not permit Walmart to have a pharmacy because all pharmacies must be pharmacist owned. So when we were there this summer it cost us $120 to fill the script that usually costs us $60 at Wally World.
Not sure if other states have similar laws.

Mike, Our experience over about 10 years of travel, first on our boat and now by TT is that CVS has proven to be best for us. Good price and EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE, did I mention exceptional service! This has been true no matter the state that we were in. Mail order did not work well for us on the road the company we used, I dont know about others, will only ship to our HOME ADDRESS. Not good, several times had to have a freind overnight meds to us, to Alaska, NOT cheap. We have even called our physician at home for a prescription, he called the local CVS and that store called the one where we were, bingo. Recall that a physician may only issue a script in his home state. At least that is what I understand. We tried Wal Mart but that did not work well, long lines and delays and little help when the store needed to contact the physician, by little help I mean none. Again our experience and YMMV.
We have been with CVS for several years now and moved the mail order scripts to them as well.
Thank you Everyone........I guess Walgreens it is , I know when I get back out there Im stuck to the eastern states for the duration for medical reasons.
I just need to be certain that my meds are available.........I ran into basic problems in Walmart just asking about transfers , so that kinda put me off right away. Walgreens so far has allowed me to refill anywhere with just a phone call and treated me like I have been there a million times.
my savings between the 2 is only 40dollars on 6 90 day scripts at the lowest discount... Its not going to make or break me but Im big on personal service .
I pay 30 a year for a script savings plan thru walgreens it saves me better than 600 a month plus so I guess why ruin a good thing

That's interesting for many about that plan for script savings at Walgreens. Noticed yesterday that they are now welcoming back express scripts, which may work for us when we go full time.
