Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

I'm ready to go!!

OK,,, I think I’m ready to go now!!! If we were sitting at a restaurant and I was at this stage I would be hitting Diane on the leg under the table LOL!! That’s my sign for I can’t sit any more and have to move!!! LOL!!!

It’s been fun talking about doing the fulltime RV thing for years,, and planning what it would take by selling everything off,, doing budgets,, getting everything paperless,, getting the rig the way we want it,, slowing down at and finally leaving work,, getting our bare land property ready for us to come back to for visits or to build on if and when we decide to get off the road,, reading everything I could about full timing and all that jazz but come on!!!! Lets go already!!!

Maybe it’s because all there is left to do is paint the little storage shed and pump house,, and I hate painting!! Or maybe it’s because we have had a couple rainy days and we have always said that we want to be gone before winter hits. I’m not sure,,, but I’m ready.

I told Diane that I don’t care if we only drove 100 miles and stayed there for a week,, at least I would consider that being on the road. The thing we have planned for years.

There,,, I'm done now LOL!!! Just a bit of built up emotions LOL!!!

It's all part of the journey...emotional ups and downs...anxiety...but it's all worth it. Hang in there and before you know it you'll be free.

Well Sherrry & Bob as Dan stated,, the prep work is all part of the journey and I think the prep work is what help us feel like we were tied to our dream in some sick way. And I have always been a planner so that part came easy,, not as fast as I wanted but easy and kept my mind in the game.

Now it's just that eveything is really done with the house sold and we are done with all the real work and planning on the chunk of land we have set up to sit at when we come visit or decide to get off the road. So it's not keeping my mind busy enough.

Hey Karen!! We really enjoyed meeting you and Bob as well. Wish we would have had time to spend more time with you guys. We certainly will let you know when we are in your area.

Dave & Diane,

We've been on the road now for 5 1/2 weeks. From day one we told ourselves no more than 200 miles a day when traveling. On our way up to Harrisburg for the ralley thats exactly what we averaged.

We planned this adventure for approx. 3 years right down to the date we would leave. So far everything is working out. We've had a couple of small problems with the MH but nothing major.

Keep planning and working toward send off date and it will be here before you know it. The last couple of months prior to us leaving went by in a flash.

We're going to winter in Washington this year to test out the rig in cold weather. We are currently in Deer Park, WA where the temperature this morning was 25 degrees. Nice and toasty inside and all bay heaters are working like they are supposed too.

Hope to see you on the road!

Deer Park is definitely a place that gets cold weather. A couple years ago that area had 5' of snow on the ground. I have no interest in being someplace like that in winter, when the weather is bad the motorhome gets smaller each day.

Bill,

Your right it does get cold and is cold at night. Still getting into the 60's during the day. December we're moving to the west side, somewhere around Vancouver.

I used to live in Pullman and Richland and remember some really cold nights.

Vancouver is OK, it is best to be on the West side of Portland metro since Camas and Gresham get the colder weather coming out of the Columbia Gorge.   It will be wet and dreary, that is winter on the west side.

Yep,, I have spent my share of winters in the Gresham area. Parking lots make for good ice rinks LOL!!!
