Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

RV AC inside duct Cover Removal

This is a simple question.  I just noticd something inside one of the AC ducts on the ceiling and want to remove the vent/duct cover to get it out.  The vest is round with loverers and had 3 notches on the rim.  These notches look to be what I need to push/pull/bend or some such thing to remove them.  I don't want to break them so I though someone in this forum has removed them and can let me in on the secrect.

Thanks:  Mark

If you supply brand and model number of A/C I can jump right in.......also if you Google The Brand name and A/C service manual.   you should get everything you need online.......you also should have a copy of it in you units manual package.

Hope this is helpful!!!!!      Mike

Thanks Mike.  I have a Dometic model# 541816A701CO and 541815A701CO roof units.  I did not get manuals with these.  I just sent a request to Dometic for manuals.

Your ceiling louvers have nothing to do with the brand of AC you have. You can use a small screw driver in those notches to release the louver.

Thanks!  I was thinking just that.  However it did open up a can of worms for me.  The manufacturer’s build list for the unit gives a Dometic model number that Dometic doesn't recognize.  I'm now going to need to go on the roof and look and see what I really have up there.
