Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Getting a job % chance

Hi every one, working towards full but will need jobs. I was a park ranger fo many years and have experience running a camp ground. My wife and I are a great team and we love meeting and helping people. With that said we are a little nervous. I need experienced feedback. Thanks Evan

ditto.........workamper news is a good start ,also with ranger exspeirience alittle networking might go a long way..........being nervous is right up there when you first start out ,try to remember the only thing that really changes is the veiw when you step out the front door in the morning!!!!

I would suggest www.volunteer.gov.  With your experience, those places should be knocking on your door.  We've had great success in finding the idea workamping job for us and we only apply to the organizations that pay a stipend.  There are gate attendant jobs available with the Corp of Eng. that pay well, but you'll earn it with long hours.

I have a friend who works as a contractor for the USFS. His job is to find and hire camp hosts. PM me for info.

The experience will come as you go thru the process of searching. So jump into it.

If you want something within your area of expertise, state and federal campgrounds are always looking for help.
If you want fun and exciting opportunities you can have a great time working for Disney or at Training Camps for Major
League Baseball or at an International Speedway. No need to limit yourself to RV Parks, there are thousands of opportunities
for seasonal work and play. The point is to ENJOY!

You sound perfect for workamping as camp hosts. We use workamper.com and have never had a problem finding work.

Sounds like you have a great background. I think the keys to getting a workamping position are flexibility and good attitude. I've received an offer for every workamping job I've applied to. Some have been better than others, but I just figure it's part of the learning curve.
