Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I am excited! We are going to get an RV. It's an older model. And needs work. However its is still liveable. We aren't going to get on the road yet. We are going to live in it. We just want to build up our savings and fix up our RV. Now we just need to down-size everything.
Congratulations are definitely in order for you. As you revamp it, you might keep a journal online so that others that are thinking of doing the same thing will have some ideas.
Terry

Sad update. We didn't end up getting the RV. We had other expenses come up. Our bank was having issues. So my husband is now back to his original plan of waiting till taxes and going to Arizona during the big rally. So that way we can afford to get something nicer and newer. Oh well I guess I can wait longer. I was just so excited. I sure hope we can still get one. We need a bit of luck on our side right now.
Whatever you do, don't fret about it. Perhaps it was just meant to be because there "might" have been something wrong with it. Keep looking, planning and researching.

Yea!! We actually ended up getting a different RV. Its a 1975 Dodge Sportsman Orlando. We are excited! The inside is very nice. The outside needs a little work. We are now working on sorting through all our stuff and deciding what to keep and what to get rid of. Once we have done all that we can get in to our RV. Hopefully by the first of the next month we will be able to get in to an RV park here in town. Thanks Terry and Jo for the suggestion of a journal of our progress. I think I might set that up in the next few days.
Each time I read of someone starting out on a budget , it saddens me that right down the street or not far from me are class A's that someone used for weekend camping....most under 20k miles......lots around here in price ranges under 10k......and half under 5k......class c units at 1500 to 2500........and really nice 5vers 6k to 14k........

Well its been almost a week since we have been staying in our RV. I am starting a blog. I will let y'all know the website when I get some pics posted. I just got to get a new connecting cable for my camera. It's been small and a bit cramped but we are adjusting. My daughter has had the hardest time. She is sleeping on the couch that folds down into a full size bed. My husband and I are in the bed above the cab. But as soon as we get my daughter's mattress she will be up above the cab. We are at Century Park in Ogden, UT if anyone is headed this way. I would love to meet some of you. We will probably be here for a few months.
Okay, I got my blog started. Like I said I don't have pics up yet. But just a little bit of what's gone on so far. I will try and update as much as I can. The link is http://www.draperclan62012@blogspot.com It's titled Our Journey Begins. Hope you all enjoy. Like I said I will update as much as possible but at least once or twice a week.

I tried activating your blog link, but it takes one to the sign-in page, not the home page for the blog. I tried "googling" your blog title, but didn't see what would obviously your blog. You will need to copy your blog address from the brower's address line from the actual blog address.

Okay try this. http://draperclan62012.blogspot.com/ If this doesn't work let me know. Because I did what Terry and Jo said by coping it from the actual site.

Okay that should work. Because when I just highlighted it from my post above and right clicked and copy and pasted in to the address line it worked. So hope you all should be able to. Here's hoping.
