Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My wife and I just purchased a motorhome a few weeks ago. We got a Newmar Baystar 3304. It is my first time of owning an RV and I am getting used to the features and driving it around. I am having a great time reading the different blogs and journals as it is giving me many thoughts and dreams. It is great to read what others have done to make this lifestyle better and safer. We are looking forward to getting out for our first little outing. Probably going to be close to home but that is ok so that we can make sure everything is working great. We are Oregon Duck fans and have season tickets so our first chance will be at the end of this month. It is great reading about all of your journeys and hopefully you will read about mine someday. Rick

welcome. Congrats on the new wheels. Hopefully soon I will be able to join the many rvers. I hope to read about your adventures in the future. I am new to this site but I love it so far. so again welcome and enjoy!
Staying close to home is a great idea until you get all the systems figured out and make sure everything is working properly. If you have questions be sure to ask. Lots of friendly folks here to help.

You may very well be on the way to being "hooked" on RV'ing. Judging by your user name of Oregonhiker, an RV can take you to campgrounds close to hiking trails or to places where you just get to walk around in nature. As stated, start out exploring close to home unitl you learn more of your RV and all its related systems. That way, if something goes wrong, you won't be in the middle of "wherever" with no idea of who would be a reputable service for repair.
Welcome to the RV Dreams forums and feel free to ask all the questions that come to mind. We all tend to learn from each other, so all questions are welcomed.

Welcome Rick, and congratulations on your new motor home. If there's any chance you can attend the fall rally this month very near you you would learn so much about your rig and this lifestyle whether you plan to full time or not. It'll be our first one but from all I've read they're fun and so very informative.

Thank you for the great and encouraging words. We wished that we could attend the Fall Rally but our work schedules won't allow. We can plan for one in the future as we would love to attend and I am sure that there is much to be learned from it. Right now I am a sponge soaking up all the info I can.
