Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hitting the road...any suggestions for Mrytle Beach area?

I just bought my RV approx 4 weeks ago and placed my home on the market. It is already under contract (after only one showing, woo hoo!) with expected closing date mid-Oct.

Wow!! It has all happened much faster than I expected. It works for me though...fits my personality. Once I decide to do something, I'm ready to do it. So we will hit the road as brand new Full Timers by the end of October. I am so excited! Since I'm in the New England area the plan is to head South intially. Thinking Mrytle Beach SC for a few months and begin working right away (part time of course;)). I prefer Charleston but Mrytle Beach has many more RV parks to choose from and realtively inexpensive for monthly rent. Any suggestions or ideas from anyone currently in the area or recently been there? I have already looked online at nursing jobs (agency, so no long term commitment) but if there are any nurses on here that have tips or ideas I would love to hear them. All advice will be greatly appreciated as this is my first trip and the beginning of my new "life on the road". I am counting down the days :~)

Beth

Hey your in my backyard beth...........Glad to see you and cal are about to start your journey....LIFE IS GOOD, The one T-shirt from NH that says it all..

I know that your going to want to look for a national agency, you might want to check around NH first so you can gather all the paperwork and such for them before you go. And register here so all you need is a phone and the old laptop to get up and be established..

Just dont use triage services........the clown that created the Exeter hospital disaster came from there and Im sure there outlook is not looking good in the future.

Im stuck here in the exeter area until December to finish my therapy from that nitemare and then Ill be right behind you guys.........enjoy this great life, it is so different and controled only by you!!!!!!

if theres anything I can check up on for you I will....I check with the Travellers at the hospital and see if I can find you any leads and post them for you!!

Beth, definately check out Willow Tree RV Resort. We first stayed there at a RV Dreams Rally, Rick and the team there are the best. Willow tree has the largest nicest sites in the area, and the park is in Longs, far enough away from the chatter of Myrtle Beach but close enough to have you in the thick of it in 20 minutes.....

Hello Mike,

You are practically my neighbor, but not for long:)

Any contacts you any have would be wonderful. I am thinking also like Maxim healthcare staffing agency. Their nationwide and no commitment what so ever, which is exactly what I am looking for on this new journey. I have done plenty of agency in the past (several years ago) but never with this company. Small world Mike...my boyfriend Cal was actually in Exeter Hosp during this time:( so scary. Thank God he is ok! I hope you are ok and wish you the best with whatever your dealing with there.

Maybe we will see ya on the road

Hello Gene-

I really appreciate the input. I will check it out. I did see it on line but there were so many to choose from. I like the idea of being away from the hustle and bustle but still be easily accessible...I guess I want it all :))

Happy travels!
