Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

My name is Dennis and my wonderful wife is Janet. And we have a furry little aussie child by the name of Pearl. We currently live in our fifth wheel in an RV park and love the simpler life as opposed to our S&B place. We still work full time jobs but the wife retires next year. I have to work a bit longer before we move on to travel life. We have done a fair share of traveling already and we have a great itch to scratch. We have to pay off of the truck and trailer then we're off and running. I could work on the road as I am a draftsman/designer of steel products but I'm a little nervous about finding enough work to sustain payments at this point. As most RVers we don't require much to live but a place to park. I loved to fish so water usually is a must. Janet can't sit still so walking and talking is her activity. silence and solitude for me. RVers are great people so we look forward to meeting up with new people.

Dennis and Janet,

Welcome from one in nearly the same boat.  Jo and I are also still working, but live in our fifth wheel in a mobile home park in Oklahoma City.  Retirement for me is still a bit iffy as to when, and Jo can retire "early" in about 14 months and "fully" in about 3 years.  I could retire at any time, but then what would I do?

It's good to have you with us as active participants on the forums.  Feel free to ask questions and make comments as we welcome ideas and challenges.

Terry

Let me add my welcome. This is a great resource. We too are still working, but sold our home last year and live F/T, in our rig. I help my wife run a business which is school related, and I have a long-time consultant business which we can & do run from the road. We have been free to travel each summer, but are recently back "home" at the RV Park where we live most of the year. We love this place. We have great folks who are in a similar situation living close by and the size and location of this place generates a steady flow of folks in & out, which vary by season from Europeans renting RV's to travel, to snowbirds from the US & Canada, to folks just hanging out for a few days. Sort of like a benefit of travel, while being stationary. Current plans are to wrap up the school business this June, but who knows. Living this way allows us to keep our options open. Another advantage, IMHO.

Thanks for all the well wishes. This is exactly why the RV experience is so wonderful. The response from you guys tell it all. I lean very hard towards the traveling and yes, still having to work. I would love to work on the road, making contacts were we land and seeing if I could drum up enough business in the design drafting field. We'll see.

Again, thanks for the welcome.
