Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I just joined this forum. We just purchased a 2013 Heartland Landmark Key Largo last friday. getting excited about going fulltime. We are going through all of our stuff and piling it up for a yard sale. Next we are going to get the house ready to rent until the market comes back. I have been visiting this forum as an inspiration for moving into the fulltime lifestyle as a visitor so we decided to join. It appears that there are a lot of people on here with a vast knowledge of the fulltime lifestyle which we can tap into. Can't wait to get rollin.

We were planning the same thing, leasing out the house that is. Our realtor who was going to property manage it for us talked us into putting it on the market for 60 days. It sold for 10k over asking in 7 hours.
Come to find out there is a shortage of good houses available, at least in Southern California. Those that don't have to sell are just sitting and waiting for the market to return. We had four back up offers all received the same day. Go figure.
The problem with our house is it is in the mountains of SoCal. It is a custom built home on 1/2 acre with a 3 car garage that even my truck fits in, but it is 15 miles from town and all the houses around us are listed for $100-175K less than we owe. To add to the drama, there are 4-5 foreclosures on our street alone. Some have been listed for 3+ years. I talked to the local realtor and she said unfortunately all the foreclosures and short sales are keeping the market depressed(and the fact there are no jobs in the area 25% unemployment).
I really don't want to be three states over and hassel with a renter but short of walking away or short sale, we don't have much choice. I also don't want to be stressing over the House while on the road. People who walked away or short sale still need a place to live if they work local so we are hoping for honest dependable renters. In the short time we will move into the 5ver and monitor it for a short time before we get rollin.
Thanks you guys for your kind words. Also not to change the subject but I noticed when I picked up the 5ver last friday the headlights were straight down the road. Because the hitch weight is 2500 lbs. Did most of you install air bags or adjust your headlights more toward the pavement? If I install air bags, do you have to constantly adjust them between loaded and unloaded?
Add the air bags to level the truck out. You may need to do some hitch adjustment to keep the 5'er near level. If the truck is squatting onto the overload springs the airbags will help out the ride alot as well. If you get a set with the remote, or in-cab adjustability its a breeze to add or loose a couple of pounds.
