Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Need some electrical advice right away!!

if there is a 30 amp plug-in at the pole and you have the neccessary adapter and cord hook into it and you should have power through out the coach. Just remember it is only 30 amps, so only one a/c etc.

We have a 2008 Mobile Suites 38RLSB3. Just lost power to everything on the street-side of the RV. No power to the living room TV, kitchen microwave, kitchen island, or the washer & dryer. Checked fuses & breakers in the interior compartment by the front door, no breakers have popped. Went out to the electrical pole & all looks normal there.
Interior lights & bedroom TV on the curb side of the RV are working. Don't know what to check next or how to fix this - need some advice!!
Thanks!

Check for a GFCI. That is what it sounds like....but it could be something else..... Always check the obvious things first.

Like Jack said, check for either a GFCI breaker or even a GFCI outlet that may have tripped.  Sometimes power is fed through these outlets and if they sense a problem and trip they shut down power to everything downstream.  The GFCI outlets can be identified by the "TEST" button on them.

UPDATE: It's looking like there is nothing wrong with our RV, but with the electric pole on our campsite.  Of course, it's a Saturday night, camp office is closed.  Hope I can get some help from the office tomorrow.  For now, we'll limp by with only half power.  Thanks for your suggestions - always good to have knowledgeable folks to turn to when things go haywire!

If the pedestal has 30 amp lug, you could use your adapter and plug into it. Then you would at least have power throughout the coach. Just a thought!

Rick & Janice and Phil,

You all had a really good idea but, unfortunately, no 30 amp plug-in on this pole.  But thanks for the suggestion, I really appreciate everyone's willingness to help!

My 08 Select Suites did the same thing a few years back. Check where the cord plugs into the RV. Be sure to turn it to the right. Mine some how came undone and I had just half of the camper working.

Steve,

Thanks for your suggestion!  Tried that & I sure wish it would have worked, but unfortunately, we still only have half power.  But thanks for the idea!
