San Diego Fireworks - RV-Dreams Community Forum

Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

On July 4th we were at Chula Vista RV Resort on the San Diego Bay in California. This year the City of San Diego had arranged with a Fireworks company to setup firework displays at 4 locations around the bay. The show would be synchronized by computer with music played by a local FM radio station. It was billed as the "Big Boom at The Bay". It was scheduled to begin at 9PM and last for about 20 minutes. Unfortunately something happened that fouled up the computer. All of the firworks at all 4 locations went off at the sametime. 20 minutes worth of fireworks show happened in 20 seconds. It was unbelievable. Here's why I'm posting this thread. I've read reports where people were disappointed and yet if you watch any of the many videos on the internet or were ther in person like we were all you heard from the crowd was a tremendous cheer. Listen to the crowds in the videos....lots of cheering and applause. This failure answered a burning question that I have had since I was a little kid: What would it be like if all of the fireworks went off at the same time...it was a big boom not a bust. The sound was like a tremendous thunder clap rolling across the bay. It was spectaculiar. I view it as a one in a lifetime event and I can relive it anytime I need to by going on youtube and opening up one of the videos. I saw it on the news. Although it was not as expected, it certainly was an amazing site.
