Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

This is question #15 of Howard's FAQ - http://www.rv-dreams.com/faq.html#Q15 .

Howard and Linda have a friend do it, we have a relative, and most people use a mail forwarding service familiar with RVs.  Your mail goes to the address and you call/email/whatever when you know you have a stable address to forward the mail to.  Your mail gets put in a big envelope or box and sent on. Yes, you will be paying whomever postage and probably some expenses.  In many cities the destination is "General Delivery" to a particular post office where you go up and ask for your mail.  General Delivery works best for smaller cities and towns.  Some campgrounds accept mail, some don't.  If you are going to visit a friend or relative, their address is a great place to send the mail.   Mail order packages would be handled the same way.  In a crisis there is always FedEx.

Most full timers learn quickly to cut down their physical mail with less magazines and paying online instead of getting paper bills.

We have been doing this for about 9 years.  It is not rocket science and we get our mail forwarded about every 3 to 4 weeks.

Sheila,

Welcome to the forums.  You will find it to be an excellent source of information because there are a lot of knowledgeable folks here with just about every kind of RV.

Feel free to ask questions as thet is one of the best ways to find out the details in answer to a questeion and possible alternatives.

Glad to have you as part of the "family."

Terry

Welcome! ?'s; Ask away! I just signed up for American Home base in Pensacola; Florida. Others use South Dakota and Texas as a home base and mail service. Just web search; Mail forwarders.

Hello & Welcome. As a variant of what the others have posted, we use a UPS Store for our permanent address, in Las Vegas, where we have lived for years. The box rental includes txt. (or e-mail or phone) notification of packages and faxes. They then scan any faxes and e-mail them to me.As I am a legal consultant, I get lots of depositions etc, and they are very good at getting them to me timely, if necessary. If a campground doesn't accept mail, I simply search for the nearest UPS store and have them send/fwd to that location. Works very well so far. FWIW. Richard

We use Escapees mail service out of Texas. It has worked well for us. There are many others. Research and ask people on line for reviews before you decide. We opted not to depend on relatives. It can cause hard feelings if something goes wrong.

We began by using one of the kids to forward our mail. That didn't work out all that well and while looking for a mail forwarding service, we found on of my wife's cousins that ran her own mail service. That has worked out for us for about 2 years now.
