Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have been lurking a few months on this site, I hopefully will be starting my RV adventures next summer. I will be selling my house after the first of the year to my neice and am looking at getting a class C, I;m single and will be traveling by myself so I don't need anything real large, I haven't done any RVing in about 20 years, I use to have a pickup camper and traveled all over the country and parts of Canada in that, RVs sure have changed since the old 1965 pickup camper. I;m 59 and want to enjoy myself while I;m in good health and able to do it. The biggest issues for me is health insurance and domicile, I live in IN and would like to become a resident of SD but I own a farm here in IN and will be keeping it and get rental income from that and that is what I will use for my travels, and I don't know if I can get new health insurance in SD. I feel it is just easier to keep things the same and stay a resident of IN pay the high taxes keep my health insurance here. My neice told me she would collect my mail and forward it to me.
Lots of friendly folks here to answer any questions you may have. Good luck with your plans.
Maybe we'll see you out here on the road one of these days.
Jim

Hi and welcome to the forum. There are so many things to think about and decide on. But in the end it is worth it. Keep us posted on how things are going.

As you have already found there are a lot of decisions to make about full timing . Fortunately this forum can give you lots of help so make sure you ask the questions.
First of all, welcome to the RV Dreams forums. We are glad to have you as an active participant of the forum "family." Feel free to ask questions and never consider that a question may be a dumb one. The only dumb ones are those that aren't asked. I mean, if one doesn't have an answer to a question in one's mind, then that question will be forever "dumb" because it didn't get an answer.
As for the farm income, look into that one with an appropriate state agency or tax expert in Indiana. Jo and I are from agricultural roots and here in Oklahoma one can be a landowner drawing income from farm land but living in another state. In fact, all of the landlords we had lived in other states.
You may have to still pay income tax in Indiana because the income was generated in that state, but I wouldn't think that establishing a "residence" in another state is going to give you problems.
Good luck with all the planning and research.
Terry

Thank you for all the welcomes. I have talked to my tax accountant about a month ago, he told me that I would have to pay Indiana State Income tax on money from the rental of the farm even if I lived in another state. I will continue doing research about changing residence.
I went to Nexus RV today to check out there Class C units and went through the factory, they are less then an hour away from where I live which is nice. I was very impressed with there units, and with the owners of the company they really seem to be customer friendly it was a lot different them going to a RV dealership. I will be doing more research on Nexus products in the months ahead. Thanks again for the welcomes John
