Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Very exciting news today. We found a beautiful 5th wheel and put a deposit down on it. It's a 2007 KZ Escalade with a rear kitchen. We have read quite a bit about them and they seem very well made. We added a generator, additional fresh water holding tank, king sleep number mattress and a couple of other goodies so providing our loan closes without a hitch it should be ours in about 2 weeks.
Anyone else have an Escalade? Have you been happy with it?
Rosie

Thanks everyone! We are very excited. I'm already planning some decor modifications. (Thumper rolls his eyes at this) Parts of the decor look kinda um....old lady to me. But you have to decorate your home to your taste, right?

Same thing happened to us.. In our case we waited a bit to long to make an offer and someone beat us out. But the good news, we found another one we liked that was in much better shape. It took us about a year for us to finally get the unit we wanted. There is always another one out there waiting for you.
Long time no 'hear' right!! Well, things have been pretty crazy since Jay got back home (should change that sig') He didn't make it in time for our 25th Anniversary on May 23rd, but he got home on the 28th! On the 5th June we flew off to Vegas to celebrate everything we had missed, we had a great week there just relaxing and 'playing' actually left Vegas with $700!!! lol.
Then we drove to S.Cali to visit with the inlaws, great visit, but 7 days is maybe a little too long.... Got home on June 19th and hit the ground running, trying to find our new home on wheels. We looked at lots of them, even travelled to TX and FL to see all the used snowbird DP's. Some good deals but we didn't fall in love with anything.
Finally, we found a great dealer right in our back yard, great guys and love to deal with locals, they are just two guys that buy used DP's from auctions, then practically rebuild them inside, new wooden floors, re-upholstered, hand made cabinetry to fit new flat screen TV's, the carpenter there just loves to upgrade all the woodwork. Not pushy salesmen at all, in fact we had three visits there before we even started talking about what we were looking for, Jay really clicked with these guys and we had a lot of fun with them.
They had a 2005 Alfa Seeya DP on the lot, that they already had a buyer for, they were just finishing some of the options the new owner wanted putting in. Jay and I had a good look inside and out, they told us all they had done to it (by now we were like friends) but they weren't trying to sell it, it was sold already. We loved this RV, it had everything we wanted,I was so sad it had already gone, but Todd and Julian were looking for something that would be perfect for us, and that one was a bit above our price range.
Well, Friday Todd called us, the buyer hadn't been able to get his finances in order and they had given him his deposit back, he asked if we were still interested in the RV and that he would do us a good deal, apparently they liked us lol. Anyway, we came to a price point that we were comfortable with, and the guys came down almost 10K from what the previous guy was going to pay. Luckily we had already got a pre-approval thru' GoodSam finance at a great %rate, so we were ready to make the deal!!!
Hopefuly we will have our new 'home' parked next to our rental within two weeks (they are holding it for us while we wait on Jays deployment bonus ) until we have the deposit, but they have taken an 'earnest check' as a good faith payment, until then.
I am scared to tell anyone that we HAVE our RV, because I am so afraid that something may go wrong at the last minute! This Rig is beautiful and I can't believe we are lucky enough to get the chance to own it..............Please keep your fingers crossed guys, I will be heart broken if it falls thru'
Huggies Kim x
PS. Happy 4th July everyone!!!
