Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi there. This is my first post on this forum, but I have been lurking on this and other forums for months. Wish I was with those at the Rally in Kerrville, and I hope you are all well and having a great time. My wife and I have always enjoyed camping, but have never used anything bigger than a tent trailer. We met some wonderful fulltimers and part timers last summer in New Mexico, and decided this is the life for us. We visited these same new friends this winter in the Texas Hill country, very near Kerrville. We are in the process now of selling a business, home and 31 years together of accumulated stuff. Things are moving along quickly, and this summer might be the start of a very different lifestyle for us. Most of our friends and family are supportive to us, but probably really think we are nutty.
I have some specific questions about 5th wheels and tow vehicles, but I will post those in the appropriate area of the forum. Just wanted to get aquainted first. I have gained tons of information already, and It seems that this forum is a little more laid-back and has very few hostile comments toward others. I promise not to ask which 'truck brand' is best. But might want advise on specific 5er models.
Welcome, no more lurking and many questions for you. But I have heard around here that the ONLY DUMB question is the one not asked. I have learned a lot lurking around here. Took the DW and I two years to find the right 5ver, but we start FT next weekend. Can't wait.
Welcome and ask all the questions you want as there is a wealth of knowledge here.
Welcome aboard. Let us know how the downsizing is going. My wife and I just started with getting rid of clothes we really don't wear anymore. I'm sure the next step is the hardest and that will be no less than 100lbs of photos and negatives. Most of these will be wanted by our kids and grand kids (I hope).
Keep in touch

Welcome. I agree with Bob & Cheri, "the only dumb question is the one not asked". Don't be surprised if a question leads to those answering asking other questions. Those other questions come from experience.

Welcome to the RV Dreams forums from a fellow Okie. Jo and I live in the Oklahoma City area in our RV. Another Oklahoma couple in the research stage as well is Loydstuts (his username) and they live somewhere in the vicinity of Ardmore.
As the others have stated, all questions are welcome. We never know when someone will bring a new perspective to a question, so we all tend to learn together. Feel free to ask and comment, and if you wish to, use the "Private Message" function at the bottom of each users profile. That can be found by clicking on the username in the upper left corner of each post.
Now, get out there, research, and join the family. (Oh, and getting rid of "stuff" is very liberating.

Welcome! Wish you could have been to the rally in Kerrville. It was SUPER!! Maybe you can plan on the next one. There was so much excellent information shared. Howard and Linda did a fantastic job. Ask all the questions you can, there are very knowledgeable people here who can help you get a good start on your adventure.
Thanks for the warm welcome. Tomorrow, I will overcome the first big hurdle to our plans, selling a business. Then more garage sales and getting the house on the market. I think it is easier for me to downsize a 3 car garage and a shed of tools than it is for Lori to empty her closet. Already did the picture thing...might need a storage facility for them. I have a truck question, so now I will ask on the tow vehicle heading.
We know how you feel. We listed and sold our house way faster than expected. All the stuff had to go in a hurry. Married 40 years so there was a lot of stuff. Traded off three vehicles for one and I am currently searching for the right motorhome. We need to be on the road full time in June. Great info on this website. Brad and Nancy
