Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Possible chance of a job!

I posted here last year when we made our mind up that RV/workcamping was what we wanted to and was very excited even though it was something that wasn't going to happen for 5/6 years down the line (now 4/5). I'm a British gal and just love this country and want to see it ALL lol.

So here I am again even more excitrd than before.

I have applied for a part time job at a small campground near to home in Prince George Virginia.  I went there in January as Frank (hubby) and I were exploring the possibility of buying our RV and  living there but was told that everything was up in the air as it  was under foreclosure,  apparently it used to be a KOA and was brought privately and then went into foreclosure; was closed for a year and now the bank  owns it and is going to keep it open.

After speaking with the  human resource  person on Monday last and
then taking a drive over there a couple of times chatting with the
people that are employed there at the moment, it didn't take me long to get my resume emailed off.

I would 'love' this job I don't think there wasn't anything I couldn't
handle without a little basic training,   it would fit in with
everything we have planned for our future and because it's something that I am passionate about anyway this wouldn't be 'just' a job for me, it  would be  just perfect for me if I was appointed.  I also think the humane resource
person was interested in me although one can never really be sure.  I would be going in at the very beginning of something that is already established but is also new;if that makes any sense, exciting ay?

Basically they are looking for someone part time to register the
guests, show/direct them to there site, take care of the shop
(situated at the point of registration), clean and maintain bathrooms
(they have a part time man for any maintenance) and  basically keep
the grounds looking clean and tidy.  I am sure there is a little more than that but with my background in admin my position as scout leader for 15
years my hobby as a reenacter and my experience of 'life' I am sure I
could adapt to most of what would be expected.

So, my question to you all, and I hope you don't mind me asking.   Do you have advice if I am called for an interview?  I would love to hear your experiences of interviews etc......I have not had an interview for 30 years, so if I was called I know I will be very nervous, what you think?  If there is anything that you could all advise me of I  would be very grateful.

An extremly excited Jacks

When you were in Admin, what did you want to hear out of an interviewee? (sp) What can you bring to the campground? Interest, passion, desire to improve the facility, desire to make a camping experience pleasant for all the users? With all that, you are a cinch.
