Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi gang! I have not been on here much at all since hitting the road last September. We are having too much fun! We have met some amazing other fulltime families.
I want to share something with you all that I have created on Facebook for other fulltimers...
Many of the campfire discussions we have been involved in have turned quite spiritual. I have found that there are a lot of fulltimers that are wanting to connect with others and share their spiritual journeys a bit outside the walls of the institutional church.
With that in mind, I created a group on Facebook called The Seekers Cafe. The intent of the group is simply to create a place for people to connect with one another and share their spiritual journeys while on the road. I am hoping it will become a tool for people to use to schedule real gatherings together...not just a page for online chatting, although it is great for that as well.
I thought about posting this in the website section. However, it is not a website; and it certainly is not anything I profit from. So, I hope this is not inappropriate to post here in the community chat.
Here is the description of the group:
Are you hungry for fellowship on the road? Are you seeking a undogmatic, authentic and organic walk with God? Please come in! All are welcome here at The Seekers Cafe.
The Seekers Cafe is a safe place for you to hang out, break bread, and share your spiritual journey with other seekers and sojourners.
The Seekers Cafe is not a church, a movement, or a religion. It is not a place for proselytizing or preaching. There are no owners, leaders, deacons, boards, etc. It is simply an attempt to create an alternative to the institutional church for those of us who want to walk with God without fear, prejudice, or expectations.
The Seekers Cafe has sporadic hours and sporadic locations. Join our group for cafe hours and menu updates! Better yet, announce your own hours and location here for other seekers!
Really, this group was created after meeting multiple families on the road looking to connect with others and feeling a spiritual nudging to create it.
I hope that, as the group grows, we will all gather in small groups in person from time to time to share our journeys a bit. It is my hope that the conversation will revolve around the life and teachings of Jesus. But, I want ALL partakers to feel like they can be a part of the conversation and feast, whether you call yourself a christian, muslim, buddhist, jew, atheist or whatever. That's how Jesus would have it! I simply want you to feel welcome to join us on this journey of discovery into the heart of God.
By joining our group you are not making any confessions or professions other than that you are "seeking" like the rest of us.
Best Of Luck! I personally won't use Facebook as PC Magazine, Computer World and a few others report the problems with FB being to loose with privacy. I also have have friends who feel the same way. Really would be nice if you built a forum website. Pieere
