Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My husband and I purchased a 2012 Everlite 29FK. Minor issues have been resolved but have had audio problems since day one. Trailer has a Jensen 19" 12V TV model JE1909 and a Jensen AWM970 stereo. There is a low level hum through both sets of interior speakers when using the AUX2 and DVD. The DVD also "chirps" when playing a DVD. We've tried multiple DVDs and our Everlite dealer has replaced the stereo. The replacement stereo is a little quieter but the noises are still there. The other issue came up when we decided to play the TV sound through the stereo's speakers. We hooked up the AV jacks of the TV to the AUX1 jacks on the back of the stereo. We got a lot of interference. Everlite dealer worked with Jensen and ASA tech support. Installing a ground loop interrupter didn't help and the final fix was to connect from the TV's heaphone jack to the stereo's AUX 1 jack. Now I'm getting two different stories from the trailer dealer....first he said the TV can't use the AV to AUX1 hookup because of the variable audio signal. When I said the TV's owner manual shows it on page 17 his story changed to...well maybe the TV can do it but because of the way Everlite ran the cables it's causing a lot of interference. We're also getting the constant low level hum through the AUX 1 jacks now. I'm so confused....help!!! Has anyone else has this much trouble with their TV and stereo? If so, what did you do to fix it?
Best guess is the hum is coming from the battery charger as you said “12 volt TV”.
Turn off the battery charger so as to just run the TV on the 12 volt trailer batteries for a test.If the hum goes away, that’s the issue – “12 volt ripple” out of the battery charger or a “ground loop.” If the hum doesn’t go away - well I was guessing. Just a shot in the dark from a long way away.
Thanks Bill.....I disconnected the 12 volt power feed to the TV and used the AC adapter...still got the hum. The stereo is also 12 volt but has no AC feed so can't test that. I've contacted ASA tech support trying to get more answers.

OK, but if I understand you still had the battery charger turned on (plugged in)when you did this and were running the “stereo” off 12 volts.Probably isn’t the battery charger, but if is is plugged in / turned on when doing any test then it still could be the problem.Again, I’m sort of guessing, but if I had the problem you were having I would try this first just to be sure as it is very easy to try to isolate a possible problem.
Leenda, Do you have any LED's in the TT? One person on the EVERGREEN LIST, see the link in my signature box, had some interference in the TV and it turned out to be the LEDs.
You might join the list and possibly someone else has gone through the drill. I do not recall anyone having mentioned that problem. We have a 31RLS, for two yrs. It did not come with LED's but I have installed several with no problems therefrom. CCC
Charles, All the interior and exterior lights in the TT are LEDs so I really hope that's not the root cause of the intereference. There are no lines or disturbance with the TV picture.
Leenda, From some of the experience of several on the EVERGREEN list that very well may be the problem. Turn them all off and then turn on and tune the TV, then turn on one led at a time and see what happens. CCC
