Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We're ready to escape the 10 months a year of rain in Western WA!! We are currently on our 3rd travel trailer, having started with a Aliner years ago for weekends getaways, graduating to an 18 foot travel for a little longer road trips and now we have a 29 foot travel trailer with 1 slide. Our longest trip so far has been about a month, when we were on the last night of that trip last August and neither of us were excited to go home, we knew it was time to stop thinking "if" and instead start thinking "when".
I work from home on a full time basis and will be able to continue my job from any location as long as I have Internet connectivity and cell phone reception. My husband is an artist, we participate in about 15-20 shows a year on the West Coast so having the trailer has given us the freedom to travel to his shows with our "mini home" and provided a place for me to work on the road. The current art show life style leaves little time for yard work in the summer, much less time to actually enjoy our 1/2 acre lot and Mt. Rainer view so we're ready to trade it in.
We're just starting the process of considering what we need to do to the house before we put it on the market, started slowly to sort through a few of our things and trying to figure out what will be the right motorhome for us after we sell the house.
We too are from WA, Olympia area. We did this same thing about 1 1/2 years ago. We went through stuff and started getting it ready for many, many garage sales to get rid of most everything. One day I decided to look into estate sales. I contacted Sound Estate Management - 206-779-8542. Sarahlynn came to the house and looked at all we have. She needs to make a minimum of $2,000 but everything over that is yours. We put the things we wanted to keep in our master bedroom and laundry room. Then, she and crew came out and completely turned our house into a great showroom. They even take the doors off your kitchem cabinets to use them for display.
We had to leave the house for the week before the sale so they could get everything organized. We lived in a nearby hotel and left the work up to them.
I would definitely go to her website www.oundestatesales.com. The prices she gets are probably a little better than garage sales, but you don't have to do all the labor. When we went back to the house afterwards it was almost totally empty. All of our furniture had been sold, most of our "stuff" with just a few things left over. I had a small garage sale the next weekend to get rid of the things that people don't buy at an estate sale. I also had three charities come by and take almost everything else. I got charity receipts so it was a great eperience.

Thanks for the tip!! We'll definitely check that out since we're both working and trying to get things ready for garage sales is a little overwhelming right now.
Good suggestion regarding the estate sale, that might be a great way for us to deal with both of us working full time while trying to prepare for this. Thanks!!
