Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I am getting ready to start a new rving season but have ran into a small problem, my tow vehicle got wiped out by a person who just couldn't stop for that red light. I now have another truck and getting it prepared to tow. My question is has anyone had any experience with the new 16K hitch that Reese has come out with? It kind of looks like their elite series. I believe the stock number is 30866.
My only experience has been with reese hitches but if anyone has another that they would highly recommend please let me know.
First of all, you link doesn't take one to the specific place for the truck. It goes to something more like a start page for some forums. If you redo your link to the truck, try to set it so that your link opens in a new window.
While I don't have a knowledge of which Reese it was that we had, we did have a 16K Reese at one time and was happy with it. We now have a 22K Reese pulling our Mobile Suites. Two or three different sources told me that the Reese's were some of the best.

Mike: Actually the model that uses the Elite head, but fits on standard mounting rails, is the model 30081.It is good for a rated 20K and 5,000lb pin weight.
It’s the third offering on the page from the following link.
I prefer the Elite hitch head, which this model has, because of the locking claw system that is, IMO, a more secure locking system then some others including other Reese products. Also it has both front to back and 6 degrees of left to right tilt which makes off level connecting much easier on the rig and truck.
I have the model above and have used the 25K Reese Elite with exactly the same head for 5 years and have been very pleased with the way it couples and locks so firmly and securely.
Bill
Edit to correct degrees of tilt to 6 degrees
