Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Folding Electric Bikes

Greg has some minor mobility issues, so we are looking at purchasing a folding electric bike for him to use for getting aroung at the RV parks. Has anyone tried these? Any feedback appreciated.

I would be getting just a regular folding bike for myself ( I need the exercise, lol). We plan on storing both in the bottom storage of the 5th wheel.

Don't know if you had specific bike in mind. Recently we ran into a couple, she had a 3 wheel and he had a scooter type electric. They said they had got them at camping world I really liked his scooter. It was compact and folds down for storage. It's not a mobility scooter but a three wheeled run about. It was very quick. I think he said it was in th $700 range. Her 3wheel bike looked like a traditional 3wheeler with a basket on the back. It folds and has an electric motor. My DW also has mobility problems so we got her a mobility scooter and then bought a canopy for it so it looks like a miniature golf cart. My 93 year old dad also travels with us. We got him a mobility scooter with canopy. We carry one in the bed of our truck and the other one goes on an a automatic rack at the back of the 5th wheel.

This is an old post, so I'll assume you found your bike! If not (or for others), I have the same need and have been researching. Here are a few links I've found so far:

http://lunarscooters.com/shop/the-lunar-scooter-30mph-1000-watt-electric/ (not quite a bike, but accomplishes the same thing. There is a model with a seat)

http://www.electricbicycle-outdoor-store.com/page/395652219

I'm also looking for a place that has a showroom so I can try out different models.
