Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

My wife, Peg, & I are glad to be here and really appreciate the vast array of knowledge which resides in its members.  I only lurked here for today and certainly saw enough to know that this is the place to be for RV information and suggestions.  We own a 2011 Forest River/Coachmen Brookstone 366 purchased last year.  It's our 3rd (and probably final) fifth-wheel and it is a dream to tow and live in.  I could easily move in and stay for the duration, but momma has to have a "Home Base".

I will probably bug you guys with some rather inane questions, but as this unit is completely new to us some things are a bit confusing.  So don't think we're complete noobs, just learning some new tricks.

I look forward to hearing any and all help you might be able to provide and I'll try to help where I can.  Enjoy!

Welcome, getting to where you both want to be can be as simple as finding the right home base,just without a house to worry about. We sold our house and all the contents in May of 2011, hit the road for three months,and came back to our "home base" , a very nice resort type RV park where we used to get-away,close to home. They offer very attractive discounted rates,for pay-ahead reservations of three months or longer. Since we have to come back each year to run a school based business (till 6/13),we "home base" here.Once we are finished working, our long term plan is to travel 8 mos and come back here,always,for 4. That way we get to keep our home base in terms of what is familiar to us, without the worry of a house. Works for us.You'll find what works for you. In any event, this is the place for great info & friendly,caring people.

Hi Skip n' Peg!

We probably went about it way different from most folks - 0 to fulltime in 3 weeks! We have now been at it a few days shy of a full month and I consult this site on a daily basis! There really is a wealth of knowledge here for both newbies & old-timers as well. We just never know what little things will pop up!

We did about the same thing. We are now in our 6th month of fulltime and love every minute. We spent a couple of months in Texas and now in the middle of three months in Arizona and then heading north for a couple of months and then to the Washington/Oregon area before we head back to Texas again for a couple months. The best thing is that if you don't want to do something that day, you really don't have to---it can be done maybe the next day.
