Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I was about to buy this be fifth wheel after looking it over for a period of 3 weeks. However on my last look I found water damage below a window which on further inspection rotted a section of floor out about the size of a dollar. They told me that they would fix it a guarantee it I writing not sure what to do. The price was 20999 I got them down to 16500. I'm afraid of more problems down the road
Anything purchased used, (or new for that matter) you assume the risk, if you feel the price is fair, no one was attempting to conceal this problem from you, and everything else on the Rig checks out, I would still consider it. A leak like you describe could be caused by failure to maintain Caulk over the window....a common problem. Have you THOUROUGHLY Researched the 2003 Presidential? Read the forums, you want real user feedback......welcome to the forum. G
By your post we can all assume you are looking for opinions, so here is mine:I wouldn’t purchase a rig with water damage. This rig is 8 years old. There are a lot of rigs out there for sale and I am sure you can find one that doesn’t have water intrusion.Water intrusion is, second only to mold which water causes, the most harmful event that can happen to an RV, IMO.You never know where the water went beyond what you can see and what damage it has or will cause.
I don’t mean to put a cloud over the Presidential. This has nothing to do with the brand and everything to do with the problem.
Trust me; there are a lot of other rigs to look at out there.
