Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Mary and I are full time and working on our 3rd month. It's a learning experience but all we can say is "THIS IS GREAT".

We started our journey by staying a few days near our old stick and brick house at a nice park. Then we pulled down to Tennessee and have been just a few miles outside of the Smoky National Park since the first of November. Mary is nursing a foot with a small broken bone but is almost healed up. We've enjoyed the moderate weather and the awesome beauty of the general area. We've walked, hiked, climbed and driven all over the park.

We also checked out some churches and connected with a small community church and have really enjoyed keeping that routine in our lives. The pastor even invited us over for Thanksgiving dinner and we accepted. We had great food, football and fellowship. The pastor's wife is trying to convince us that this is a great area to live in and I'm sure it is....but we've just started.

We are close enough so that we will do a mad-dash back to family in Indiana (with our little car) for Christmas but then it's on to Georgia, Orlando and all points in between. We will be doing the Magic Kingdom, visiting Ft. Benning to see the graduation of a nephew from boot camp and spend some time on the ocean.

Two observations.

First we really seemed to have picked the right truck and 5th wheel combo. We've never owned a big truck so didn't know what to expect. The Ford F350 Dually diesel is awesome. It pulled our 37' Montana Big Sky through the mountains like it was a little canoe.

Secondly....we must be made for this lifestyle. Today we were Christmas shopping in Knoxville but on the way back agreed that we both felt we were ready to move on. There are too many things to see just to sit still.

We wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. If you are living this lifestyle then you have a lot to be thankful for in your life.

Howdy from a fellow Hoosier! We have lived in our 5th wheel going on 3 years now, also a Montana, but have just recently been able to travel. We can't make it back for Christmas and will miss spending the holidays with the kids and grand kids but we are looking forward to the lack of snow!

Hello from a cool and rainy Arizona.(beats cold and snow) Isn't it great how those feelings tell you that you are ready to be on the move? We are just past our one year anniversary on the road and love this life! Flew to my daughters wedding last weekend and couldn't wait to get back "home" to our coach. We were snowbirds before so haven't had Christmas with kids and grands for four years. First year was a little "icky" but we now make our own traditions. When we DO get together we make up for it. It doesn't have to be a certain day for family.

Greetings from Texas.  We too are from Indiana and moved into our coach back in March of this year.

This is our first time to winter where snow should not be.  We too will miss Christmas with family for the first time.

Living one's dream is a wonderful thing to do. Enjoy what is around the next bend in the road.  Merry CHRISTmas.

Hello everyone. We are just past our one year of full timing and loving every minute of it. We are spending the winter in Texas but lucky because thats where we are from and our kids and grandkids are here as well. We go to Colorado every summer and volunteer at the YMCA of the Rockies. If anyone is interested go to ymcarockies.org and look under Snow Mountain Ranch. We have a blast there every summer. They give you FH site and 3 meals a day 7 days a week for 28 hours of playing :) I work in the gift shop and Mel works in maintenance. Before we had our RV they gave us a lodge room. Really enjoying our life style and plan on staying on the road for at least 5 years.

We will be down south at Guadalope State Park for the New Years.
