Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I'm Cherie, and my partner is Chris - and we've been full-time RVing since 2006. We're both currently in our late 30s, and run our software development and technology consulting business as we roam... and have been known to pick up short term gigs to keep things interesting.
We're very much into mobile technology, as its what enables our nomadism - thus we consider ourselves 'technomads'.
We started off in a tiny 16' T@b trailer together, that had very few ammenities, then traveled for 3 years in a sweet custom built 17' Oliver fiberglass trailer.
Just this past summer we decided that is was time for something different - so we bought a converted 1961 vintage bus. We're loving bus love, and the comforts that a 35' motorhome provides!
We travel all over the US, and love that this mobile lifestyle gives us lots of quality time with family and friends who live all over the place. Occasioanlly we park the RV, and travel overseas for a bit to shake things up.
Anyway, thought we'd drop in - we love connecting with other like minded folks in our travels and sharing what we've all learned along the way.
We keep a blog at http://www.technomadia.com - where we talk about the intersection travel, mobility, serendipity, career and technology. Oh, and cats.
Allow me to also welcome you on behalf of myself and the much lovelier half, Jo. She is an IT professional, and I have dabbled with technology in my time, so I suspect I'll be checking out your website fairly often.
From one thing I read there, it looks like we may need to do something with our Samsung 4G hotspot as well. But, I don't know if we still have the 3G unit or not. We may have to deal with upgrades of firmware or whatever.
Anyway, feel free to ask any questions you wish and also chime in with comments. Everyone here learns from each other.
Terry
