Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Forum Policy On Selling & Commercial Links

Here is the RV-Dreams Forum Policy on selling, commercial links, and spam.

1. Since Linda & I are RVers that have to earn our way as we go, we are sensitive to other RVers trying to earn a living.  So, we allow our RVing (or future RVing) Forum members to include links to their business sites in their "signatures".  And we have special sub-forums where they can post links to their blogs, RV-related websites, and even income-producing websites that have nothing to do with RVing.  We also have a sub-forum for classified ads where RVing members can post items for sale like RVs, RV accessories, RV lots, even houses.  Of course, we prefer that they continue to be participating members of the Forum, but we don't monitor that closely.

2. We also allow RVing-related commercial members to post here and include links AS LONG AS THEY ASSIST OUR MEMBERS by providing answers and advice fairly consistently.  This can be very valuable to the Forum, and we have no problem allowing them a little plug in exchange for their "expertise".  However, failure to participate and assist will ultimately result in deletion of the membership.  We do keep an eye on this.

3. What we don't allow here are RVers, non-RVers, or commercial members that simply join to get some free advertising and then don't participate.

4. We also don't allow spammers, but some get through and we delete and ban them as soon as possible.

That's the basic policy and it is somewhat subjective and not always easy to enforce.

Other forums have much stricter guidelines, but we want to help RVers and those that enhance the quality of this Forum for our members while at the same time keeping out spammers and those looking for nothing more than free advertising.

We're certainly not perfect and we don't catch everything, so if you see something you think is questionable, please send me a Private Message and we'll check it out and make a judgment call.  smile
