Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
FOLOWING IS THE LINK TO A WRITE-UP ON MY TOUR OF THE NEXUS RV FACILITY IN ELKHART INDIANA THIS PAST FRIDAY AND SATURDAY - FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE INERESTED.
THKS GENECOP. IF I HAD TO PICK ONE, I WOULD SAY IT IS THE LIGHT WEIGHT STEEL USED THRU OUT THE RV - ROOF TRUSSES AND SIDE WALLS - RESULTING IN SAFTEY - STRENGTH AND STABILITY. THERE REALLY ARE SO MANY THINGS - HARD TO CHOOSE, THE AMISH HAND CRAFTED CABINETS - WE PICKED CHERRY WOOD, THE QUALITY OF THESE CABINETS EXCEED THOSE IN THE $500,000 PLUS HOUSE WE JUST SOLD. ALSO AND I THINK VERY IMPORTANT IS THE ATTITUDE OF THE CRAFTSMEN CREATING THESE UNITS - I CAN'T IMAGINE THIS QUALITY IF IT WERE A PIECE-MEAL OPERATION. THIS IS A FAMILY OF FOLKS TAKING GREAT PLEASURE IN DOING WHAT THEY DO. I KNOW YOU ASKED FOR ONE, BUT DAMN THERE ARE JUST SOOOOOO MANY.
MELISSA AND I ARE JUST SO TOTALLY PLEASED WITH OUR CHOICE. IT'S BEEN OVER A YEAR IN THE WORKS AND WE FEEL WE MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE AND THAT'S A GOOD FEELING.
This is the only factory tour I took as my research did not show that the NEXUS use of the light weight steel throughout was part and parcel of most Class C RV's in general. Nor did it show that the quality of construction existed in all of the other brands I looked at. Also the fact that Nexus deals directly with the public and does not use dealers makes for a very good price on these units. I have looked at many other brands of Class C RVs and my visual of these (on a dealer's lot) finished products did not equal that of NEXUS. Other things that I found to be favorable to me were for example some of the standard features eg: backup camera, automotive type window seals with a preapplied wicking material put on before window insertion, rigid foam insulation, the construction materials of the walls and the suction lamination process, one piece fiberglass roof, residential fiberglass shower, residential microwave, cabinets hand crafted that I feel excel in the Class C industry. Oh - and the toilet is not plastic either! :>) Innovative slide out mechanisms that other RV mfg's are switching over to. 40,000 btu heater - most Class C's are 30,000. Many more inovations as well - I'm not a sales person for NEXUS - I'm just an extremely pleased customer with the product that we (me & DW) decided was best for us. Check the web site out - check all the videos out, check out the list of standard features and options. Both the owners love to answer questions. My only point is NEXUS is an entity in the RV market that should be examined as a serious player. The NEXUS Phantom (which we are buying) was been very well receive at recent RV events. www.nexusrv.com
That's great RVP, glad you are happy with your choice, at the end of the day, that's the only thing that really matters, looking forward to some photos.....
THANKS - YOU ARE 100% CORRECT GENECOP - NOT SURE I KNOW HOW TO POST PHOTOS ON THIS SITE. THE ONLY PHOTOS I HAVE ARE THOSE OF A 31 FOOT PHANTOM THEY HAD IN INVENTORY - OURS IS BEING BUILT WITH SOME OPTIONS:
CHERRY WOOD CABINETS AUTOMNATIC LEVELERS ENTERTAINMENT CENTER AND STORAGE IN PLACE OF THE OVER CAB BED
AND SOME OTHERS NOT QUITE AS SUBSTANTIAL AS THESE, WHICH INCLUDE:
That's terrific that you guys found in Nexus what you were looking for! I'm sure you're relieved to have that decision behind you and can make the next moves toward fulltiming in your new RV. Congrats!

Following is a link to my blog with some additional information regarding the Nexus 31' Phantom Class C RV for those of you who are in the process of researching RVs. I spent close to a year researching and going to RV shows and while we all have different needs and desires and thoughts of what an RV should represent to us as individuals - I make this info availiable for those who want to add it to their individual research.
