Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are on our way to CO for about a month. Would like to stay somewhere close to Estes Park. Coach maintenance finished so need ideas for a not too "pricey" spot. Would appreciate any help.
In all honesty, I've never been to Estes Park in all the years that we've been going to Colorado. But, a search engine excursion found something interesting. It is a "network," for the lack of a better term of about five different RV Parks under one basic website.
One of those sites is at Loveland, Colorado. It is called Loveland RV Resort. They are associated with Spruce Lake RV Park, which is actually in the immediage Estes Park area. But, they are priced way different.
Spruce Lake RV Park monthy rates:
RV site
$968.44
$1,143.07
By comparison, the Loveland RV Resort monthy rate is:
Full hook-up RV site
$375.00 + electric
$450.00 + electric
I presume that the "+ electric" means that it is billed separately.
The source of this information is at this site, and it has some listings as to "additional charges" such as additonal people, pets, etc.
Other than that, I don't know anything that you couldn't find by yourself with an internet search engine.
Enjoy your trip. Jo and I will be at Mountaindale RV Park SW of Colorado Springs next month ourselves, but only for a week. It should be interesting as we've never been to Colorado this late in the year. I'm really hoping the Aspen's color will hold out until we get there.
Terry

Spruce Lake is decent and in a pretty area but as you can see very expensive.I wouldn't even consider Loveland RV Resort as the word Resort is a BIG stretch.Pictures can make anything look nice.Besides that there is actually over 30 miles difference through the Big Thompson Canyon between Loveland and Estes Park.Being from Colorado it pains me to say there isn't much in nice ,reasonably priced campgrounds in the Mountains especially by Estes. The area Terry and Jo are heading offers more in the way of decent ,reasonably priced campgrounds.

RVing probably not a reality any more.It was a good time while it lasted.
Well, if you want to come to the Springs area (Woodland Park, 8500') you can come to Diamond Campground. $32/night. Electric included on all rates. Passport America for 5 days in September. We close the end of September.

This is all looking a little "iffy" at the moment. I have been looking at RV Park Reviews and Woodalls big book .......not much luck with most reviews saying the spots are tight also. Will keep on looking and thanks for your help.
While "cheap" or even reasonable, Elk Meadow is likely the best park for close by access to Estes Park. How much will it cost you to get from where you are to where you want to be? This is a prime site and you will have to pay for it but consider where you want to go and what it will cost you "in total" to accomplish this goal. I hate paying that much for a campsite unless it makes the very best sense. Do the math and see what makes the best sense for you.
We just spent a few days at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake, I believe it's the least expensive in the area. I don't know if they offer weekly or monthly rates. It was very convenient to both town and RMNP. Nothing special, but spacious and quiet during the week.
Exit #254 on I-25 just South of Loveland, don't remember the name but we were there for a week this past July. We were scheduled to stay at the LoveLand RV resort, we just couldn't stay there just to crowded and our Mobile Suites was a little to large for the only site they had, and we reserved the a site 3 months prior and talked to them on several different occasion and were told there would be no problem well there was. But they did refund or money. The RV park at exit #254 is at Johnsons corner. Don't remember the cost, but I would stay there again. We also looked and talked to Estes Park and were told we were to large for their Park.. Good Luck.... Happy Trails....
