Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi, my name is Jackie and my American husband's name (I'm British) is Frank. We moved from Michigan to Virginia and LOVE it! At the moment our passion is our Harley; we love to do the rustic camping thing whenever we can. Because of some financial mistakes in the past my husband just assumed he would be working (he is a motor mechanic) for a few years to come yet. However, after talking to the camp workers this summer we have decided that's what we want to do, it's still work but how very different and a whole different lifestyle. It can't be for another 41/2 years yet......................but what a 'DREAM'! I was given the site RVDREAMS.com by one of the couples that we met, apparently this is where they started to plan their future. We have a while to go but we are so excited that we now have the start of a plan and now Frank won't be 'wrenching' (as they call it) for another 10 years. Looking forward to learning from this forum!
Welcome Jackie/Frank. It all starts with a dream then a plan. For us, it began about 4 years ago when it became clear to me that I was not on the same page as my wife. (details are on our blog) We developed our dream, then a plan to get there. Go live for us will be Feb 2012. You will find this forum lives up to its name. Former dreamers are now living their dream. Don't be afraid to jump in with questions an d by all means read, read, read. The depth of information here is priceless. By the way, Frank will always be 'wrenching' if that is his passion. Or perhaps I should say he may switch from 'wrenching' to 'tinkering'. Keep your dream alive and enjoy the ride.

Hey, thank you for the response. Frank says him 'wreching' was always just a way of making a living and that 'tinkering' is probally more up his street lol. This is going to be a wonderful time for us!
Welcome Jackie and Frank. You have picked a great site for tons of information. For even more check out the fall rally in Pa. (I think there is still room) You will learn a lot there, start a network of friends and have a chance to ask all your questions and even think up more.
Keep the dream in sight and it will be here sooner than you think.

Vicky and Ira thank you also. I am going home to England for almost six weeks and don't come back until 2nd week of September so we may not make it this year but we will be itching to go to one next year I'm sure, also we understand that there are seminar's to go to as well..........is that correct?
Frank is already finding himself looking at RV's............something he has never done before. If it wasn't for financial commitments I think we we do it now, we are both not into 'stuff'' and don't have any now, we lead a very simple life already. I am going to TRY and enjoy the anticipation!
Yes Jackie there are lots of seminar's. Most of them are designed for the beginner RVer and Howard and Linda are so approachable. They or anyone else there are always willing to share any knowledge they have. I recommend you try to attend one when you can. Good for Frank. Looking at RVs is the first step. Before you know it you will find one you "just can't live without" hehehe. I know we did.
You will enjoy the anticipation. Half the fun of doing something is the looking forward to doing it.
Who knows. Maybe we will meet in a campground down the road somewhere.
Vicky and Ira
