Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Music in Campgrounds

I'm curious.  Do all campgrounds have live bands in the evening on the weekends?  Right now most of the people in the campground we're in only come on weekends.  I'm certain that will change after this weekend.

We had our daughter and family over for a cookout Sunday late afternoon.  We had suggested they not come until about 4 as we knew from experience that most part-timers leave the campground by 3.  Sure enough, at a quarter to 3 it was like a mass exodus.

However, around 4:30 the live band started up across the pond and way up on the hill from us by the club house and pool.  It was so loud we could hardly talk and could feel the bass beat in our bodies.  They quit for the night around 9.

We were surprised when they did the same thing on Monday.  Haven't heard them since but these 2 old fogies didn't enjoy it at all.  We've become very content with the sounds of nature and the normal 'talk' of people.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm complaining.  Just wondering if all campgrounds are like this.

We've never stayed anyplace that had live music in the RV park. We have had a few instances with campers who believe that music was made loud to play loud and that more beer is always the answer... ;)

We have only stayed in one. This was in Miton, WI and they had a full concert open to the public. It was held in a large activity building on the property and we were invited if we bought a ticket! It was pretty loud but not obnoxious and certainly not too loud to talk at our site. You had a pretty unique experience and I would be surprised to hear of a similar occurrence at your next campground or any other campground you visit in the next couple of years.

We stayed at a campground in Nashville that had live music several nights a week on a little stage by the pool. We had never seen this before but it was quality entertainment from groups trying to make it in Nashville. It was a nice change and seemed very appropriate for the location. However, I can't imagine having music like that at any other campground, it just wouldn't be what I would want on a regular basis.

The only campgrounds we've seen with music on the weekends have been in "Snowbird" locations in the RGV and Arizona. It's definitely not a common thing in all campgrounds.

If you like country than Red Trail Campground in Medora, ND has live music. (It didn't do much for me but I am not into country.) But it is rare to find music in most campgrounds except for special events or snowbird parks in winter.
