Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I'm a new member - just signed up today. My name is Dick Secor and my wife's name is Melissa. We live in Santa Fe NM. We are both retired - I'm an acrylic painter (for 16 years now) and my wife is a writer of middle grade books for kids and many various magazines etc. We do not have an RV yet but have our house up for sale and as soon as that happens we will buy a Class A or Class C used RV 32-36 feet in length. Our plan is to F/T RV for at least a year or two and then continue perhaps 6 months a year. I plan on doing a lot of painting and my wife plans on a lot of writing.
You've found a great site to learn all about the full-timing lifestyle. There's lots of friendly folks here that will help you in any way they can.
Howard and Linda are thinking about having a Rally out west in the near future and that would be a great learning experiance for you if you can make it.
Good luck,
Jim

Welcome. You have chosen the best possible place for information and support in your quest. Advice given by those on this forum has been invaluable to us.We too have listed our house. We have the tow vehicle and just took delivery of our future 5th wheel home, for F/T. A lot to do,but as you'll see, lot of support here. If Howard & Linda do have a rally somewhere in the West, in the next year or so, I'd say make every effort to go. I know we will. Wish I was free to attend spring or fall rallies already planned, but timing is no good for us.

Thank you Richard, Penny & Paul. Can't wait for our house to sell (with the economy - it may take a while) BUT as soon as it does we will find our RV and hit the road. My wife already has our routes mapped out!! :>)

Sounds like a great plan. I think making a commitment to the full time lifestyle for a defined length of time is a great way to go. That way you make a commitment for a minimum length of time, which allows you to work through the ups and downs--best wishes.
Welcome to the family Dick and Melissa! Lots of great info/help here. We're in the transition to fulltiming. Hope to finalize things by the end of the summer by leasing the house. We have a 5th wheel toyhauler, but we're looking for the perfect diesel pusher to fulltime in.
