Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We loved our 2006 F250 when we first bought it. After having the thing for three years or so we started with the problems. The engine air cooler split three times. The second time Ford replaced the engine, radiator, hoses, etc.
The new engine never pulled as well as the original.
We started worrying what would happen once the 100,000 warranty expired.
Last week in NM, the check engine light went on. No Ford dealer any where close. We made it to Amarillo, TX. With 3,000 miles left on warrantly the fuel pump and two injectors needed replacement. A very costly expense.
What to do. Every mile we drove we worried that we might have another breakdown. And next time the expensive repairs would be on us.
We can been researching the new Ford trucks and the new engine. We hear lots of good things about it. We also wanted to go to a dually with a heavier towing capacity.
We are now driving a 2011 F350 King Ranch dually. This baby has everything. And we have debt! So, we will change how we live. Less eating out, no impulsive buying. But feeling better and safer as we drive.
Thinking back we made the original mistake in buying a truck on June 6, 2006. 6/6/6. This truck was truly the truck from hell!

Looks like you made the right decision, very nice truck! With the new truck and new tires on the trailer you should be set for many miles of trouble free driving. Now all you have to worry about is the price of fuel. Best of luck with the new truck.
Investing in towing vehicle that should last you at least 10 years is a good investment in my book!
