Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Once we took a realistic look at the market subtracted the costs of making the house perfect we were able to price it at an attractive number resulting in it going on the market in Sept, getting an offer in Dec and closing the end of Feb.  So less then six months start to finish much better then the 18 months of working on the place and trying to get a "full price" offer in fact once we add in the mortage payments we didn't have to pay and the minimum renovations list we made out a bit for the area we live in.

Terry yeah I plan to post a bit more now that I don't have the house sale looming between dickering with the buyer and getting everything out of the house it's been a busy last three months.

Mallo

Congrats Mallo! I feel a lot the same as you do. People don't realize that the longer you pay mortgage, insurance, taxes, upkeep, and renovation, the more it really costs you in the end to keep your place. When we were selling our shop we put the numbers on paper and it was far better put an attractive price on it and sell it than to hold out for a high profit. Good luck to you and good to see you posting!

Congratulations on the sale and shifting gears.
I like the strategy on your home sale. We to have been discussing several projects that would make the house more updated than it is. However, before I spend money on the house, I want to make sure I can recover the expense. We owe less the 50% market value so we can price it lower than others in the area.
Hope to meet you soon.

Mallo, we just sold our house too! We listed it in January, got a contract in February, and are closing in less than two weeks. I agree with your strategy of reducing the price instead of making the repairs. It has been CRAZY to get things pulled together so quickly. We will be at the Spring Rally, and will offically be fulltimers! Excited, but lots left on my task list....
