Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Dryer Sheets and Their Many Uses

In Melanie's (Melstar) post about the cleaning job on their fifth wheel being too much for her, it was mentioned that dryer sheets could be used for cleaning the outside of their fifth wheel.  After it was brought up, I mentioned that there might be some negative aspects of using them, but I could only vaguely remember one.

So, I used the search features of three different forums to see if I could find that one negative comment again.  In that search, I found a lot of other uses for dryer sheets other than reducing static cling.

Here are the links that I found.  They are to at least Fifth Wheel Forums and the RV Dreams forums.  I'll let you read through each so you can get the full gist of what the forum participants wrote about.

No complaints here, but good information.

The following had one “negative” comment about dullness of the finish after using sheets.

More uses for dryer sheets…rodent control

One mention of dryer sheets down towards the bottom.

While most of this topic is about a “standing” RV over a period of time, there is one reference to dryer sheet use.

And, one other use of dryer sheets is to place one or two on your person when outdoors to keep away bugs and mosquitoes.  Jo swears by them and she is a bug magnet.

While the lowly dryer sheet may have many utlitarian uses other than laundry, they have their artzy side, too.  rip.gif

Here's a website that will teach you how to make origami out of dryer sheets.
