Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hello all, Walt and Kelly here. I have been lurking around for over a year and finally decided to join. We have been talking about workamping since 2008. I am 33 and Kelly is 41. We knew it would be a while before we would start our new life and get rid of the sticks and bricks but after I almost lost my job in 2009, due to the economy, we new it was time to get ourselves free from debt and start saving for our new life. After looking at campers and going to rv shows we bought our 5th wheel in July of 2010. In January 2011 we bought the truck to tow it. We will be spending most of our summer in it at a seasonal site to see how well we can live in it. Kelly has two daughters 21 and 17. The 17 yr old will be graduating high school this year and then off to collage. so we will putting the house up for sale after that. I have a 12yr old son that lives with us part time. So we will be staying in the area till he is older. I have had most of my questions answered already by just reading the forum but im sure there will more. I have looked at many other rv forums and this one looks to be one of the best I have seen. I don't want to make my first post to long so I guess that is it for now.
Glad you decided to join in. As those questions come up, be sure to ask. There's a lot of friendly folks here and I'm sure someone will have an answer for you.
Good luck with your plans.
Jim

Welcome to being an "active" member of the forums. Obviously, you already know there are a lot of knowledgeable folks here. So, if you have questions, fire away.
However, I would suggest that you get an avatar without snow when you can. RV'ers don't necessarily like the stuff.
(Just kidding.)
Have fun with participation in the RV'ing life and the forums.

Walt and Kelly - Welcome! And good for you to have made the decision to do this lifestyle at your young age. I wish we had known about this earlier. Then we'd be 'there' instead of still 'here'. Best wishes to you and enjoy the forum.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Terry that picture was just taken when we bought the truck. Even though there was snow on the ground we had to take the 5th wheel out for a test drive. So we haven't had a chance or better weather to get a good picture. We're ready for spring.
I have not been on the forum for some time...and it is good to see that we still are getting new folks come on board. We need all the input we can get from all the RVers out there. Stop by any time and say Hay!
Hello and Welcome! You have found a great group(as you can already tell). No matter how much one knows, questions always seem to come up. We traveled south for two years and have started our life on the road fulltime November 1. Enjoy the forum!
Hello Walt and Kelly. Looks like you are on your way to living your handle. Welcome to the forum where you will find useful experiential knowledge that is shared in a most civil manor.
