Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hello to all, My name is Dave (DJ) Jones my wife(Andrea-AJ) and I are just now getting into the Rv life style we have done alot of thinking about where we would like to be in the next few years and we know this is the place, so we have bought a 2001 Big Sky Montana and F250 crew cab 4x4 superduty so the adventure has started. we are both still working full time and will have to do that for a few more years (3 kids in college 2 more years) and like most making sure the money is where it needs to be. however I am in construction with very good company and we build in 11 southeast states so my travel albeit work related will still give us the chance to travel with the our RV and start living a part time life style. we are hoping to make it to the rally this year as we live in the chattanooga (north of) area. So I just wanted to say HI to all of you, I enjoy reading your post and have learned tons from you in the past week Thank you, and I hope to get the chance to meet you on the road soon.
Let me be the first to welcome you to RV-Dreams! I discovered this website last Feb. and I have been on here almost every day since! Love the info, the help and the friendly community!!
Glad you found this web site. There's tons of info here and lots of friendly folks that are more than willing to answer any questions you may have.
Hope you can make it to the Rally. You'll meet some great people and learn a lot about getting ready to full or part time.
Jim

Thanks for the well wishes and greetings, I been behind the scenes for the last week and I can tell that this is a great site for info an making friends. I will have to find all the little tricks to posting pictures (I am NOT COMPUTER FRIENDLY LOL) but I am coming around to it. there are some questions I have but would like to ask them in the proper areas of the forum. like I have to find the best hitch for the truck and camper- some electrical-some interior operations, but I will find my way around, I found this great site right?!. thanks again for the warm welcome. Dave.
Welcome to a very friendly place, full of helpful and knowledgeable folks. I think you will find us very willing to help with some of your issues in question. So, feel free to ask questions AND make comments of your own. We all tend to learn from each other.
As for the picture posting, if you are speaking of the avatar to the upper left of a lot of posts (like mine), the biggest thing is getting the picture sized small enough. As for myself, if I have other photos to share, I generally just put in a link to the photo on my Photobucket account. You'll notice at the bottom of my signature that there is a link to the account for those that are curious.
Have fun with all the planning and research.
Terry

Welcome DJ and AJ. Johnnny is working nuclear outages and right now a power plant construction project in Arkansas. We initially got the 5er for his work, but since we both enjoy it so much and to give him more flexibility in the projects he takes on we've decided to lease the house and I'll go fulltime with him. It's a little scary for me not to work right now, but it makes the most financial and relationship sense!
Enjoy getting to know your RV. That's always the fun part! lol

Carol and Johnny, this is our plan as well. for now I am going to go solo for the first trip out and as it warms up and we pay down a couple of things she plans on quiting work and joining me while I am on the road working, we will keep our place as it has been in the family since 1923!! we came back and took it over about 20yrs + ago and hopefully someday our daughters will want the same for their kids. there's a great story about my wife and I here and I don't think either of us could give it up. we have no problem becoming full timers when the time is right it has been a dream of ours for a couple of years. I know that staying together as you said has got to be the best part of rv-ing (nothing meant about you solo folks) and I am sure you and johnny are going to have the best of times because you made the leap might as well enjoy it!! we are looking forward to it sooner than later. DJ. terry an jo thanks for the picture hints I will have to set up one of those photo bucket accounts your pictures are great. (may have to have the wife do the set up LOL) DJ
