Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

At the CG's, We have done office work and housekeeping.

Just started fulltime in October and will be looking for work eventually.
I have a retail background and dh is an artisan
Dream job for me would be anything working with people. DH dream would probably be either making beautiful furniture for everyone or I think he would do a great job teaching adult woodworking class.
Good luck to you and hope we all find our work camping jobs.
The first 3 years we were out, we only wanted to travel and weren't interested in anything that would tie us to one place.
In the last 2 years though, we have volunteered 5 times, for anything from a few weeks to a few months. We have worked at 2 animal shelters and 3 state and federal parks. At the parks we were campground hosts, a job that we really enjoy.
We still pick and choose, the opportunities have to be in areas we are interested in at times of the year that the weather is pleasant. Needless to say, we are not batting away opportunities. :)
Sherri and I work for a marketing company that keeps us on the road. Last year we work quite a bit but this coming year we are scaling back so we can have the best of both worlds. We work a week or two at the time and then take off for a while until they have us something else to do. We are on call but for the most part we can take two and three week trips. We are looking forward to trying this out and if all goes well we might see ya down the road.
Since we started in "07" we have had 5 jobs on the road. Summer "07" New Hampshire, fall & winter that year Sarasota, Fl. Summer "08" a retreat in Mt., Summer "09" tended a store front in Bar Harbor. Summer"10" at a CG in Pa. We don't work the winter months any more, just do the retired thing in Florida.

Well we are not FT on the road yet but are FT in the RV. We have just accepted a summer working camping job as we plan to start the RV wheels turning in March. Our house has not sold but January 1st we're signing it over to a Property Managing Co. They will lease it and take care of it. I know it will be a mess when we get it back but we are tired of waiting on it to sale.
We will be in Boise, IA for the summer and are looking for a job for the following winter. Anybody got any suggestions for winter 2011/12.
Just want to say that I love your attitude and philosphy...you will enjoy your time on the road and be an inspiration to those you work with! :)
Oh, I could answer the question, too! :0
While we haven't workcamped, after volunteering at several Escapades, we were offered a position with Escapees. We love volunteering with Escapees, so we decided to do it and are having a ball. It does take up more time than we wish, but we get to work with the most wonderful folks in the world, most anyplace and anytime (other than for a month or two). And we are 'giving back' something in the process, so it's all good!
You'll find the perfect 'something' that will work out just right for you, because you're looking up! Providence always takes precedence!
Hugs and good luck in your travels! Hope to see you on the road one day! Molly & Bob
Winter times seem to be difficult to find paid jobs. With so many workcampers out there looking for warmer weather for that time of year, the jobs become sparce.
We found that if we work in jobs we really don't care for but will do for site, we can see some pretty incredible areas. The time is not long, 6 mo. isn't so bad when you only work 2 days a week for site.
Blessings in your adventures. It is wonderful!

We have only been on the road since July, but here's what we have done so far:
Grounds maintenance and restroom monitoring - Just happened upon this at a park where we were. Owner was by himself and offered this in exchange for our site.
Two-month security team job at a shut down manufacturing plant
I do work as a virtual assistance online and have done some guest blogging
We are now headed to Missouri to a destination park where I will be doing social media marketing and Dave may be doing ??? We both may also be asked to do various duties.
Dream job:
Well, the one coming up is on my list! We are excited about being part of a team working to renovate and bring a tired park back to life.
While we're dreaming, I would also like to be a host team, perhaps security team (either the kind we have done or at a park) and/or teaching Reiki and giving sessions!

We started full-timing June 2008, and will be volunteering for the third summer at Dash Point State Park just south of Seattle, WA. Dan does construction work - refurbished picnic tables, built cedar fence and gates, built cedar storage sheds for campground firewood, built rustic tables for nature center and will build two cabins this summer. Gail works in the office and entrance booth to the day use area.
Provided a human presence at a 1200 acre housing development in central Florida for 3 months.
Checked in hunters at a wildlife management area in Florida.
Dan is currently volunteering with Harvest Aviation, a nonprofit group of pilots who do missionary work to Honduras and Costa Rica. He is laying floor tile in the office of their hanger and building some dividing walls.
We are currently looking at a wildlife refuge in Texas and a national forest in Arizona for next winter, but really don't like to plan that far ahead.
We plan to volunteer about six months of the year, with the time broken up into 2 or 3 months at a time. We prefer state and national parks and forests, wildlife refuges and wildlife management areas rather than private campgrounds.

My wife and I have been fulltimer on the road for the last 3 years. We have been to 42 states and 4 provinces. We have not taken any paying jobs but have volunteered at 1 state park, 2 animal rescues, but we prefer volunteering on church build projects which besides churches also include childrens homes, church summercamps, conference centers, Teen Challenge centers, church schools. We belong to 2 organizations that have many projects. Last year we wanted to go to the west coast and back. We volunterred in Texas in Jan. and Feb. Arizona in March, Washington in June and Montana in July. We are presently in Fl. working on a church in construction. We are not assigned jobs but have different jobs to choose from. We stay from 2 weeks to a few months our choice and the Lords leading. We love it and plan to continue in the future. We plan to go out west again this year to avoid the humidity. We wanted to travel and serve the Lord and this gives us an opprotunity to do both.

That is so kewl! We were talking about doing something like that next winter. We are taking the winter off to visit family and do some volunteer work. God brought us here for some personal reasons for His Work. Hope to meet you down the road one day.
