Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
For the last few weeks, I have been reading lots of information at this site. I decided I needed to introduce myself. We are James and Cindy Sullivan. I have 3.5 years to early retirement and possibly a fulltime lifestyle. We currently have a 30' fifthwheel, but will need a toyhauler . I won't fulltime without the atvs or bicycles. We also enjoy hiking and fishing. I have enjoyed reading Howard's journal and the responses to question's at this forum.
Opps= forgot to add. Leonard is from Vinton, his brothers live over in Sulphur - right around the corner from Lake Charles.
We head to Lousiana next week. Family reunion at his cousins Castle in Sulphur. We will be spending two weeks at Sam Houston Jones State Park starting around the 12th or 13th. Stop over and look for the 2009 Montana!
We're doing the same thing with this forum we just have a little less time to retirement. The end of next year we should be on the road. This forum has answered all kinds of questions for us. Even questions we didn't know to ask.
Welcome James and Cindy from another Louisiananian! We just bought a 33' fifth wheel and plan to take long weekends and extneded trips to find out if we would like to do the full time thing in a few years. I found this website less than a year ago and it's fabulous!
Chip and Cindy here from Abita Springs. We'll be fulltiming in one spot early in the new year. We've got a few years yet before we'll be able to see the country, so welcome to the club.

Thanks for the welcome. Phyllis wrote that she is from NJ. We actually lived in Woodbridge and Edison, NJ for 3 years when I worked construction in New York City. Also, we just finished camping at Sam Houston for a few nights. We are able to camp and be close to work and it is better than just staying at home and watching TV at this time of the year! Like Melanie, we also have a Crossroad product, a 30' Cruiser 5th wheel. I saw on her website that she makes pralines. My dad has a big pecan tree in the backyard, and mom uses them in her pralines. It is hard to get some, my dad eats them all!
Welcome! Next week we will be in Lake Charles for a week (visiting the in-laws). A few Christmases ago we took all the kids to a decorated historic fort outside of Lafayette. Hoping to do that again this year. Pinon
Welcome James and Cindy before you know it you will be on the road full time...hubby and I are in the process also of downsizing and we're on the downhill side to full timing ...hoping sping 2011....and I can't wait :) You will find alot of great info on this site..and you will always get an answer to any questions you may have....

Welcome James and Cindy! We are also on the road to fulltiming in 3 years! In the meantime, we're also doing the "downsizing, clearing out, and fixing up the house to sell" thing. You will learn a lot on the forum from the other members - have fun with your research and planning. :)
We feel like Louisianians, we have been in Duson, LA since November 18th. This is an interesting state. I kept hearing about Acadiana, so I have a somewhat inquiring mind and asked about Acadiana. I learned some about it but now I need a book to explain it deeper and find out more about the Acadians who settled this area. My only complaint is it is 38 outside and I want it to be 70. Oh well, this is still a great lisfe style.
I posted earlier that we would be in Sam Houston Jones SP. However, got there last Sat. No sites available that had sewer or we could open our slides. NOPE! So we are in Vinton at the Texas Peligan until the 30th. If you are in area, stop in and look for two Montanas parked next to each other. We are in the newer one.
