Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

The Life Change Experiment

I thought that Howard, Linda and the members of the RV-Dreams forum might be interested in a blog I saw mentioned in a segment on an Australian TV lifestyle show this week.

These people immediately reminded me of Howard and Linda.

Their idea is called the "Life Change Experiment" (not sure if it's an original idea). The young couple concerned, Geoff and Bessie have both done quite a lot to date, writing books, appearing on TV shows and promotions, hosting events, etc.

After much urging by Geoff they decided to quit their predictable life and give all of their possesions away.

A statement on their blog reads "Have you ever wondered what your life might be like if you stepped out of your comfort zone, gave away all of your possessions to needy strangers and went looking for more from life?".

When I first saw Geoff and Bessie on Today Tonight a while back when their lifestyle experiment was announced I had assumed that they had sold the home and used the money to buy a motorhome.

I was certainly wrong there as I discovered that the motorhome is being provided to them free as a dealer's promo for six months. They were also seeking other sponsors, which I expect they would get as they seem well connected.

Not a criticism, good luck to them by all means, but I think Ch7 had originally positioned this segment a whole lot differently as a couple selling up and living on the road, not a six month sponsored trip. I also suspect that the motorhome dealer has probably had to pay Ch7 to get this thing to air.

Their blog is certainly worth having a look at as there are archives going back to when they decided to bail out of their normal life. There are also a few videos in the TV section worth viewing.

Their blog link is: http://www.thelifechangeexperiment.com/

Apologies to all... I did try to insert a live link but unfortunately it didn't work.

David,

Well, I guess we are all doing some of that.  I know that Jo and I have downsized a lot, and after every garage sale, whatever is left out on display usually goes to Goodwill or Salvation Army for their thrift stores.  Plus, we never ask for receipts as we feel more like donating everything that way.

By the way, if I haven't done so before, welcom to the forums at RV Dreams.  We will be looking forward to any "down under" perspectives from you.

As for the link, I have found that if I try to use Firefox, I get inactive links.  But, usually, Internet Explorer does work.  So, let me try putting in your link:
